AFM Records / COMMUNIC first single from upcoming album available
Posted by: Denis / 18.09.2017
Many of you were anticipating the new Communic official single, their first recording since The Bottom Deep (2011). Enjoy Where Echoes Gather, Pt. 1 - Beneath The Giant now!

"This is the first single we release from the album, Where Echoes Gather. This is the title track and on the album and it is split up into two parts, but I like to think of the song as a whole, but for now we only will show you part 1. Part 2 will be added soon. When you listen to the album there will be no gap or pause between as it will flow as one long song.
Part 1: Beneath The Giant
The topic of the song was inspired by a visit to an Eastern Europe City some years ago. In this city, a giant of a city, the stressful hectic life, people off to work, blindly following as sheep, while in the underground sewers and pipes there was a communion of orphan children, and youngsters, living in the absence of 'street' awareness, sniffing glue to escape from reality. At night they come out, treading the shadows of the streets, looking for the next fix. We fail to lift the head away from our own 'problems' neglecting what's going on around us. With a government and media system that also fails to fix the problem, more interested in social likes or in telling the truth!. So this is where I got the inspiration to this song. Some of these children where in the same age as my own children, who I as a parent want to grow up in a safe home environment with friends and family who cares, made me even closer to the brutality, and made me see the harsh reality of life with different eyes."

InsideOut Music / Caligula’s Horse 'Songs for No One' video launched
Posted by: Denis / 18.09.2017
Caligula's Horse, a band at the forefront of Australia's Progressive Rock scene, release their much-anticipated new album In Contact. To celebrate the album's release, the band have launched a stunning new video for recent single Songs for No One.

Guitarist and director of photography/editor Adrian Goleby comments: "Songs for No One is by far the most complex and ambitious music video I've attempted for Caligula's Horse - and also for myself. I've worked alongside all of the guys for years now and the creative trust involved is what pushes all of us to find and conquer the next bastion of artistic development. We're also at a stage where we can come in and make these sorts of videos with confidence in making something distinct and memorable, as well as exciting for any audience.
Working with (director) Daniel Grey was also a treat for me. His ability to turn a metaphor into a story is remarkable in its own right. He definitely brought his best to the table, (and then flipped it).
I hope everyone that watches this is able to connect with the joy that we bring into Caligula's Horse, as well as the heart thumping excitement that I can't help but feel when I play it."

The video was directed by Daniel Grey and he comments: "Songs For No One is about embracing quiet passions; overcoming fear, depression and self destructive thoughts through the mindful cultivation of small things. The video speaks to those themes, and shows that any creative endeavour - even one only for yourself - is enough to keep the world turning."

Napalm Records / EVIL INVADERS music video premiere for 'As Life Slowly Fades'
Posted by: Denis / 18.09.2017
Belgium's technical Thrash/Speed Metal young bloods EVIL INVADERS are proud to release a brand new video clip for As Life Slowly Fades, off their upcoming album Feed Me Violence. This new extreme Metal opus will be released on September 29th via Napalm Records worldwide!

The band commented on the song: "As Life Slowly Fades is a fast, crushing tune that takes you on an emotional trip through the dark side of the mind. It is a story about the inner battle against the ongoing decay of emotions and the test of mental strength!
This track goes from fast-paced Thrash to a very cool mid-tempo pace, which reminds of Painkiller and there's even some Death influences here and there. The song goes up and down and has some very cool tempo changes.
There's a constant evil vibe, like a line going on throughout the song, which seems to disappear during the middle as the solo kicks in, but at the end it comes back like a sledgehammer smashing your face!"

Nuclear Blast / DESTRUCTION to release 'Thrash Anthems II' on November 10th
Posted by: Denis / 18.09.2017
German Thrash legends DESTRUCTION will release their new 'Best of Old School' album Thrash Anthems II on November 10th via Nuclear Blast Records.

In 2007, DESTRUCTION proved how successful re-recording some of their timeless classics and reimagining history could be. The follow-up to 2007's Thrash Anthems is ready to rock the Metal world and shows how fans can be part of both a band's history and future. For Thrash Anthems II, DESTRUCTION called upon on their loyal fans through PledgeMusic to help them create the record and contribute to the band's epic history.

Mastermind Schmier states: "As it is a part of our past to relaunch classic songs from our history with a fresh face and we had many demands on a Thrash Anthems continuation, we decided to do a second part of this re-animation of classic 80s DESTRUCTION material. For us it was important to chose the tracks with the fans and first when NB did not wanna do the album we decided to do a pledge campaign to raise the fonds for the production together with the die hards.
To make a long story short, we know not everybody will like these new versions of those thrash evergreens (just listen to the originals then) but it was an important task for us to keep them alive for a whole new generation of metalheads that love those fresh and brutal new recordings. We are very happy now, that our label is finally releasing this collection of thrash classics. The vibe on this record is so vicious, uncommercial and has this 80s feeling with a even more aggressive edge and THAT is was made our THRASH so special, in the good old days and now!"
Thrash Anthems II - Track Listing:
  1. Confused Mind
  2. Black Mass
  3. Frontbeast
  4. Dissatisfied Existence
  5. United By Hatred
  6. The Ritual

Imperative PR / Nihil Eyes unleash the relentless death metal assault of Black Path
Posted by: Denis / 15.09.2017
Death Metal war machine Nihil Eyes are joining Imperative PR for the promotion of their stunning debut album, Black Path. The Nihil Eyes line-up was only completed earlier this year, but the band have delivered an opening salvo of breathtaking power and potency, marrying dark atmosphere with unstoppable drive and force.

Following in the battle-hardened footsteps of their forbears, war torn legends like Bolt Thrower, Carcass, Nihil Eyes are here to show the world that British Death Metal can still go toe-to-toe with the world's elite; that the birth place of Metal still possesses the firepower to compete on every level. Formed in 2016 by lead vocalist/guitarist Casey Jones and drummer Szymon Ogiełło, the duo were joined in early 2017 by bassist Max Morgan. With the crew complete the heavy artillery of Nihil Eyes was ready to roll and progress has been ferociously rapid. Such is the accomplished poise and presence that radiates from these monstrous steel-clad tracks that you'd swear they were the work of veteran campaigners.
Mixed and mastered by the legendary Dan Swanö (Asphyx, Bloodbath, Incantation and too many others to mention) the sound on The Black Path is soul-shaking in its dark power, the drive and force behind the immaculately crafted, armour plated tracks simply fearsome. Lyrically speaking, Casey Jones describes the album as "a series of psychological thought experiments exploring the human condition" and these dark explorations add to a challenging edge to the shadowy atmosphere that hangs over the album like gun smoke.

Grab your weapons and head for the trenches because the Nihil Eyes armoured battalion is heading your way!
  • Casey Jones – Vocals/Guitar
  • Max Morgan - Bass
  • Szymon Ogiello – Drums
Genre: Death Metal
For fans of: Bolt Thrower, Asphyx, Entombed, Paradise Lost

Legendary Swedish singer/songwriter Spice (Spiritual Beggars, Kayser) returns with Shadows Remain, a new album by his very own Band Of Spice, a theme record about a certain period in the singer's life that was dominated by madness. The music is like a bag of different pills. Color, taste and purposes. It's Rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal. And it's Blues, Jazz, Funk and even a bit of bossanova. It's feathers and stones colliding in Spice's universe. The sound of the album is very honest and pure. In Spice's own words: "I believe you will get that if you dare to be naked and true to what you are doing. Not being able to put your trust in what a computer can do for you. I love to work with the space in the room. I love the craftsmanship of trusting your own ears, fingers and mind."
  1. Only One Drink
  2. The Pet
  3. Coherent Train Of Thoughts
  4. Don’t Bring Me Flowers
  5. Caught In A War
  6. They Are Around
  7. Apartment 8
  8. The Saviour And The Clown
  9. Give Me A Hint
  10. Sheaf
  11. The Gap
  12. Take Me Home
  13. Apartment 8 (Part II)
The beautiful, evocative artwork was made by Luca Martinotto, who has already worked with internationally renowned artists such as Ennio Morricone, Nick Oliveri, Mos Generator and many others.

AMORPHIS re-sign to Nuclear Blast & announce special 360o concert experience
Posted by: Denis / 15.09.2017
Melancholic Progressive metallers AMORPHIS recently finished their successful 18-concert Under The Red Cloud summer tour where they played arena shows with Danish rockers VOLBEAT amongst others. But before the Finns close the touring cycle in support of their latest album, there's great news from the band's camp: AMORPHIS have signed another record deal with Nuclear Blast.

Guitarist Esa Holopainen commented: "I'm really happy to announce that AMORPHIS got re-signed to Nuclear Blast! It's nice to be working with such professional and familiar people. AMORPHIS has done a lot of touring for the past two years around the globe and now it's time to head back to the studio. This means that the new album will be released next year! It has also been a really nice experience for all of us to play with Olli-Pekka again and for that reason we're glad to have him participating in the making of the new record."

Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger added: "I'm really proud that we can continue working with AMORPHIS, one of the early NB bands, which went through the roof with Tales From The Thousand Lakes back in 1994. Additionally they became really good friends of ours, which makes this working relationship even cooler. I'm already looking forward to their next album because it's simply impossible for AMORPHIS to deliver a bad record."

To make the last Under The Red Cloud show even more special, the band has come up with a great idea: fans can 'jump on stage' with AMORPHIS at The Circus, Helsinki on September 23rd - as part of a 360? experience! The gig will be streamed live, free of charge, but fans can still donate directly to the band on the streaming page. You can also win a limited edition of an AMORPHIS VR headset and enjoy the show to the max.

Nuclear Blast / THRESHOLD Richard West discusses musical influences
Posted by: Denis / 15.09.2017
UK Progressive Metal quintet THRESHOLD released their colossal double concept album Legends Of The Shires last week via Nuclear Blast. The 11th studio album by the band features old / new vocalist Glynn Morgan, who lent his vocals to the band's 1994 release, Psychedelicatessen. In contrast to the more straight-ahead heaviness and traditional structures of 2014's For The Journey, the new album is an admirable exercise in flexing creative muscles and revelling in exploratory flair. In the final trailer covering the new album, Richard West discusses his and the band's musical influences.

Speaking about the band's influences, Richard comments: "I think when we come together as THRESHOLD, we all know what THRESHOLD is. We know it's going to be a combination of Progressive and Metal, with catchy pop elements as well. It's kinda what we've always done."

Metal Blade / RAM announces new album 'Rod'
Posted by: Denis / 15.09.2017
Swedish Heavy metallers RAM will release their striking new album, Rod, on November 3rd via Metal Blade Records! You can watch the lyric video for the first single, Gulag.

RAM comments about Rod: "We are very proud to release our fifth studio album entitled Rod. On this album for the first time ever we wrote a conceptual story over 6 songs, something that we always wanted to do but never got right. This album contains probably our most epic moments to date but it is still definitely Heavy Metal Tyranny!"

Regarding the first single, Gulag, RAM adds: "Gulag has a definite old-school European Heavy Metal vibe to it. The song shines a light on the hypocrisy of collectivism, and takes a stand for the one who lives and thinks for one self, not for ideology or dogmas of the masses. As one can see in the lyric video for the song most members of RAM were raised during the golden age of home computers!"
    Rod track-listing
  1. Declaration of Independence
  2. On Wings of No Return
  3. Gulag

My Kingdom Music / DRAGONHAMMER return on the scene with 'Obscurity'
Posted by: Denis / 13.09.2017
"The same instant I received and listened to the final master of our new album Obscurity, sent by Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio, I had clear the idea that we did a great job indeed, without any doubt the best, the most complete and the heaviest album of our almost twenty-year career."

With these words Gaetano Amodio, bass player and DRAGONHAMMER's co-founder with the singer and guitarist Max Aguzzi, presents the new album, the fourth full-length and the first one after the acclaimed The X Experiment released in 2013 and that signed the return of the Roman act and the subsequent incredible European tour with FREEDOM CALL. It is also the occasion to present the new line-up with Flavio Cicconi on guitars and Andrea Gianangeli on drums already part of the quintet for the last live shows of the band.

Obscurity with its ten songs will be released on October 27th once again on My Kingdom Music which has re-newed their co-operation with a new record deal.

STÄLKER signs worldwide deal with Napalm Records
Posted by: Denis / 13.09.2017
Welcome back to the glory of the 80s! And a very warm welcome to Napalm Records' latest worldwide signing: STÄLKER.

This band is a wild trip to the old days of raw Thrash Metal with heavy driven songs at full speed! The fearless three-piece from their beautiful home of New Zealand are set to release a most sinister monster of an album. Shadow Of The Sword is set to be released on November 17th 2017!

The band on the signing with Napalm Records: "Stalker are thrilled to have formed an alliance with Napalm Records, and with the label's rock solid support we can't wait to break out from New Zealand's far flung shores and unleash our Speed Metal mayhem the world over. All of us in the band pay tribute to label Underground Power for releasing our initial Satanic Panic demo. Now, with the formidable forces of Napalm Records backing us, we're set to deliver an even more powerful and demolishing release with our upcoming debut full-length, Shadow of the Sword. Dowse the fires, hide the booze, Stalker and Napalm are coming for you. STRIKE FIRST, STRIKE HARD, NO MERCY!"

German power four-piece DUST BOLT released their third album Mass Confusion in July 2016 via Napalm Records.

In support of the album, DUST BOLT will travel to North America for the first time ever. To warm up for the tour, the band has now unleashed a brand new video for the song Mind The Gap, taken from DUST BOLT's latest release.

Says the band: "We are stoked to present the new video for the song Mind The Gap, shot during a live session at the Rain Age rehearsal rooms in Germany. Raw, DIY and old school as fuck - as you know it. A room, 4 people, 3 amplifier and drums - that´s all you need. After a great summer season in Europe we can´t wait to bring the songs from Mass Confusion and the first two albums finally to the United States together with Obituary, Exodus and Power Trip on the Battle Of The Bays Tour 2017. Come out and catch us live! And if anyone tries to tell you what to do, what to dream of or which way you to go, or even not to go to a Dust Bolt show - don't forget: just Mind The Gap!"

The band will be taking part in the 'Battle of the Bays' Tour, featuring Obituary, Exodus, Power Trip. The tour kicks off September 14th in Durham, NC and runs through October 15th in Baton Rouge, LA.

It's only been six years since Southern Germans DUST BOLT won the W:O:A Metal Battle 2011 - six years the band has used to transform themselves from hot newcomers into national Thrash heroes with their debut Violent Demolition! These Bay Area aficionados dropped their third full length Mass Confusion in July 2016. Relentless touring plus constant fine-tuning of the typical DUST BOLT sound have finally paid off: the old school songwriting is focused and free of ballast weight, yet despite all the rage and aggression there is still plenty of breathing space for melodic guitar work, gang shouts and ten ton grooves.

Nuclear Blast / THRESHOLD release video for 'Stars And Satellites'
Posted by: Denis / 13.09.2017
UK Progressive Metal quintet THRESHOLD just released their colossal double concept album Legends Of The Shires via Nuclear Blast.

To celebrate the release, THRESHOLD have unleashed a lyric video for new track, Stars And Satellites.

. "Welcome to the third single from our new album. It's a catchy little progressive number about finding your place in the world and I hope you enjoy it", says keyboardist Richard West. Karl Groom continues, "I am excited about the release of Legends Of The Shires. It represents a huge achievement for the band and one of the most creative periods we have ever experienced. I hope it connects with those listening and has a lasting impression."

Vocalist Glynn Morgan is thankful for fans accepting him back into the fold and is excited to get out on the road with the guys: "I've always been a fan of the band. I was just a fan, keeping up to date, and I think Karl and Richard's songwriting, they're a great team and it's all good stuff. So when I got the call, how could I say no? A big thank you to all the fans who have welcomed me back. I hope you're loving the new tunes as much as I loved singing them! See you all in the fall on the 'Legends' tour."

Nuclear Blast / BEAST IN BLACK 'Blind And Frozen' video and more album details

"You have to be mentally insane to not love this album." Tuomas Holopainen (NIGHTWISH)

International Heavy metallers BEAST IN BLACK recently announced that they have signed a worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Now the band with former BATTLE BEAST guitarist Anton Kabanen presents the first music video from their 10-track debut album titled Berserker, which will be released on November 3rd, 2017! This video is for Blind And Frozen, directed by Ville Lipiäinen (NIGHTWISH etc.).

Anton commented on the track: "Blind And Frozen is a super catchy and massive song. Yannis' interpretation and performance here is nothing short of pure perfection!"

Additionally, BEAST IN BLACK have also unveiled the album's track listing.
  1. Beast In Black
  2. Blind And Frozen
  3. Blood Of A Lion
  4. Born Again
  5. Zodd The Immortal
  6. The Fifth Angel
  7. Crazy, Mad, Insane
  8. Hell For All Eternity (Bonus Track- DIGI only)
  9. Eternal Fire
  10. Go To Hell (Bonus Track- DIGI only)
  11. End Of The World
  12. Ghost In The Rain
Berserker was produced by Anton in his Sound Quest Studio. Its cover artwork marks the return of the collaboration between Anton and Roman Ismailov who was the original illustrator and graphic artist for BATTLE BEAST.

Berserker maintains the style of Anton's previously composed works which include the first three BATTLE BEAST albums. Influenced by 80's Metal bands such as JUDAS PRIEST, MANOWAR, W.A.S.P., BLACK SABBATH, ACCEPT, the record is nothing but a great Heavy Metal album. "It's very straightforward, catchy and powerful and occasionally mixed with some symphonic influences", Anton adds. Lyrically, Kabanen also continues his previous style: "Many songs such as the title track, Beast In Black, and Zodd The Immortal, are strongly influenced by the Japanese manga and anime Berserk."

Frontiers Music / Primal Fear - Best of Fear
Posted by: Denis / 11.09.2017
Frontiers Music Srl are pleased to announce the release of Primal Fear's Best Of Fear on November 10th, 2017! Check out the new song, If Looks Could Kill (a Heart cover).

Best of Fear, as the name implies, is a new best of compilation from German Heavy Metal masters, Primal Fear. This double album culls together the best material from Primal Fear's last 10 years of work (including the albums New Religion, 16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead), Unbreakable, Delivering the Black, Rulebreaker), plus four brand new songs recorded specifically for this release.

Mat Sinner says: "We wanted to come up with something special instead of a regular Best-Of album. We've recorded 4 new songs including a cover of the Heart song If Looks Could Kill and in my view one of the best vocal performances of Ralf Scheepers' career - crushing! We've divided the album into 2 CDs - on CD 1 the new tracks and our most favorite rockers, on CD 2 the epic stuff and the long songs including an exciting artwork by Stan Decker. This is a compilation we're proud of and much more than a collector's item!"

This comprehensive overview of Primal Fear's body of work over the past ten years is aptly split into two records which showcase the magnificence (and constantly maturing) songwriting abilities of these Heavy Metal lifers. The first album encompasses the heavier and more straight ahead material, while the second shows the more involved and epic side of the band's songwriting.

So, whether you're just discovering Primal Fear or you're a long-time fan, this is a really good overview of their music over the past ten years and is not to be missed!

Pure Steel Records / ALLTHENIKO official video 'Waste Of Time' released
Posted by: Denis / 07.09.2017
ALLTHENIKO has released a video for the song Waste Of Time. That song is on the new album Italian History VI, which will be released September 15th, 2017 via PURE STEEL RECORDS.

The Italian band ALLTHENIKO is active since 15 years and a guarantee for true Heavy Metal! On their 6th album the three guys know exactly that only Speed and Power count! True Steel has to be formed when it's hot!

Of course you will find Teutonic influences from the true decade of Thrash, but a very clever stylistic input is the use of two songs sung in Italian! Awesome! The other songs are again for all fans of RAGE and PRIMAL SCREAM! Scream for Metal! Two, three, four, die!

In 1987 four musicians were brought together by the legendary guitarist Ronnie Montrose and their shared manager. Those four were guitarist J K Northrup, lead vocalist Johnny Edwards, bassist Larry Hart and J K's long-time friend and drummer Glenn Hicks. Within two weeks they were rehearsing writing and in the studio recording with Ronnie Montrose, who was producing their first demo. It was immediately evident that there was a lot of electricity with the band! Drawing on such influences as Bad Company, Whitesnake, Humble Pie the band's energy was powerful.

Almost immediately several major labels such as Geffen, Atlantic and MCA were coming to the shows and rehearsals showing great interest in signing the band. John Kalodner himself put the band into the studio to record a further six songs.

Although an agreement was not reached with any of the record labels the band recorded and demoed many songs over two years. They added a fifth member; rhythm guitarist Justin McDaid and continued playing, writing and showcasing until 1989 when they disbanded resulting in Edwards joining Foreigner and J K Northrup joining up with Paul Shortino for two albums.

This collection of 14 songs (Release Date: 20th October 2017) are a small portion of songs they wrote but they capture the spirit of what a great they actually were. Many of the songs were later performed and recorded by Foreigner, Ready for the Rain, King Kobra, Burning in her fire, Wild Horses, Fire and Water, The Kid is Back in Town and Rough Life were recorded on the classic album Back on Track by Shortino and Northrup.

During 1988 JK Northrup, Johnny Edwards, Larry Hart were recruited by legendary drummer Carmine Appice to write, record and perform the King Kobra III album.

This is a classic case of a band that should have been a multi-platinum success and these songs we have here are a reminder of what a great group of musicians and prolific songwriters they are.
    Track List:
  1. Fat City 03:38
  2. Fire And Water 03:35
  3. Winners And Losers 04:02

Frontiers Music / Pink Cream 69 - new single We Bow To None
Posted by: Denis / 06.09.2017
Pink Cream 69 return with their new release, Headstrong on November 10th, 2017! Hear new single, We Bow To None.

HEADSTRONG marks the 30th Anniversary of the German Hard rockers Pink Cream 69. And what better way to celebrate than by adding yet another gem to their already spectacular discography! Produced by bassist (and renowned producer) Dennis Ward, HEADSTRONG sees the same line-up from 2013's well received Ceremonial album return to deliver fans another Hard rocking set of quality songs on their 12th studio album overall. As a special treat, the new release includes a bonus live album featuring songs from across the band's catalogue.

Dennis Ward says: "When we released our first album in 1989, we were proud to be a 'guitar band' that yielded powerful guitar riffs and soaring vocal melodies. Since the release of Ceremonial it became evident to us that we had to take a step back to be able to make 2 steps forward so we made a 'master plan': resurrect our earliest form of songwriting incorporating these riffs and melodies, reducing the amount of keyboards and keeping the production to a minimum of sonic layers in order to be as true as possible to our sound - the sound of fat and crunchy guitars. I feel that the new album is a high-energy recording that redeems us as the powerful Rock n' Roll band we used to be. After weeks of cross checking the production, listening to the CD in my car, I take great pride in saying 'mission accomplished'. We look so very forward to presenting our new 'baby'."

    Studio Album:
  1. We Bow To None
  2. Walls Come Down
  3. Unite And Divide
  4. No More Fear
  5. Man Of Sorrow
  6. Path Of Destiny
  7. Vagrant Of The Night
  8. Bloodsucker
  9. Whistleblower
  10. The Other Man
Bonus Live Album (Recorded In Ludwigsburg (2013):
  11. Special
  12. Talk To The Moon
  13. Break The Silence
  14. Do You Like It Like That
  15. The Spirit
  16. Livin’ My Life For You
  17. Wasted Years
  18. Welcome The Night
  19. Shame

Frontiers Music / ReVertigo - Mats Levén and Anders Wikström
Posted by: Denis / 06.09.2017
Frontiers Music Srl are proud to announce the signing of ReVertigo, the Stockholm, Sweden based duo of Mats Levén (vocals) and Anders Wikström (guitar). Their debut album will be released in early 2018.

As close personal and musical friends for nearly 30 years, ReVertigo is the next chapter in an ongoing collaboration between the two culminating with their self-produced new album.

Anders says, "Mats and I always had an idea of creating something that would celebrate the fact that we really enjoy working together, but with busy separate music careers, it wasn't until 2016, we sat down and concentrated on new songs with a firm plan."

Adds Mats, "The fact that we, besides writing for other international artists, hadn't done a proper album together in 25 years also gave the writing and recording process of ReVertigo a purpose."

In September 2016, a three song demo found it´s way to Frontiers Music Srl, who decided to sign the band on the spot. In between touring activities with Candlemass, Treat, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the pair finalized the 11 songs featured on the debut album. All the instruments on the album are played by Mats and Anders, except for the drums, which were performed by their dear friend Thomas Broman (Great King Rat, Michael Schenker Group, Electric Boys). "Both of us have a strong mutual vision, that's why we choose to play and sing most of the instruments and parts on the album ourselves", says Mats. Peter Mansson is responsible for the mixing duties, which took place at Mir Studios in Stockholm and Svante Forsbäck mastered at Chartmakers in Helsinki.

ReVertigo's music itself is a blend of heavy, yet melodic songs paying tribute to their favorite albums and artists from the 70's, 80's, and up to present day filtered through the chemistry that comes to life when Mats and Anders join forces.

"I love when you get that teenage excitement together over a song idea, and how you hear a finished gem in your head, hence the bands name ReVertigo", says Mats.

"We might not be reinventing the wheel, but we're certainly putting on fresh tires", tells Anders.

ReVertigo's debut album will be released worldwide in early 2018 through Frontiers Music Srl, with multiple singles and videos preceding the release of the album.

Posted by: Denis / 05.09.2017
Germany's leading Gothic Metal band CREMATORY release a new live video for the song Everything, taken from their new live CD+DVD Live Insurrection out September 08th, 2017.

The music is based on brute guitar riffs and hard-as-nails drum grooves, replete with sinister keyboard hooks and that mix of growls and clear vocals – some in English, some in German – that is so typical of this band.

Thrash Metal heroes Game Over are going to release their new album Claiming Supremacy on November 17th on Scarlet Records. The tracklist is as follows:
  1. Onward To Blackness
  2. Two Steps Into The Shadows
  3. Last Before The End
  4. My Private Nightmare
  5. Blessed Are The Heretics
  6. Eleven
  7. Broken Trails
  8. Shattered Souls
  9. Lysander
  10. Show Me What You Got
  11. +11. Metal Thrashing Mad (Anthrax cover – Japanese bonus track)
Cover artwork was handled by acclaimed artist Mario E. Lopez (Evil Invaders, Impalers, Hyades).

Following the widely successful Crimes Against Reality and the Blessed Are The Heretics EP, which confirmed the band as one of the most promising Metal acts in Europe and among the NWOTM best, Claiming Supremacy is without any doubt the band's most mature album so far. Inspired by the classic Bay Area Thrash Metal scene of the Eighties, Game Over mix those influences with modern sounds and a very distinctive personality. Claiming Supremacy is the perfect combination of the band's furious riffing, Hardcore attitude and classic Metal influences, with very obscure lyrics and, of course, those anthemic choruses that fans recognize as a band trademark. Overall the album is heavier, faster and ruthless than ever. Lyrics vary from B-movie scenarios to social-political themes, science fiction, mythology and history. The album has been mixed and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), who has previously worked with Midnight, SunnO))), Poison Idea, Integrity and many more. Claiming Supremacy, which will be released in Japan by Marquee, will also be available in a vinyl version limited to 500 copies.

AMARANTHE have released the video for the incredibly catchy song Maximize from their latest album MAXIMALISM. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart upon release. It marks the third video released from the album, following That Song and Boomerang.

"'Understated' is not what you usually associate Amaranthe with", said guitarist Olof Mörck "But seeing the raw emotion and personalities combined with Maximize, I was convinced that we captured part of the essence of the Amaranthe live machine. Ladies and gentlemen; this is Amaranthe at its rawest and most distilled form! See you all on the road this fall, as the MAXIMALISM world tour invades a city near you!"

The visuals for Maximize are a stylistically different choice from previous Amaranthe videos. This video shows a more intimate and more raw side of the band, letting the performance speak for itself, sans any distracting effects or extras.

Shot in Helsinki by director Ville Juurikkala (Bullet for my Valentine, HIM, Sonata Acrtica), Maximize demonstrates a band oozing with confidence, after having clocked nearly a thousand shows in just a few years. It also manages to add a tasteful touch of minimalism to MAXIMALISM.

The video was shot before the band recruited their latest member, Nils Molin; however, Molin will be featured in all of the band's upcoming releases.

In other Amaranthe news, the single for 1.000.000 Lightyears has gone gold in Sweden, while the singles Amaranthine and Hunger have gone gold in Finland.

The band is also preparing to embark on European tour with Eluveitie this fall.

Nuclear Blast / PÄNZER Schmier discusses the lyrics
Posted by: Denis / 31.08.2017
Heavy Metal saviours PÄNZER will unleash their sophomore record entitled Fatal Command on October 6th, 2017 through Nuclear Blast Records. After revealing why they picked such politically charged artwork in the first album trailer, the band has now launched a second trailer covering the lyrical content. Watch as front man Schmier opens up about what he was influenced by when writing the album.

Schmier comments: "The lyrics of the album are a personal view of mine on the world and of my life also - I have some personal lyrics in there about a friend of mine who turned schizophrenic, which is of course very intimate and for me it's been a great relief to write about it. But I'm also an old punk and like to create lyrics about stuff that's going on in the world."

Escape Music / TARGET - IN RANGE
Posted by: Denis / 30.08.2017
TARGET's IN RANGE featuring Jimi Jamison (R.I.P) will be re-released 20th October 2017 on Escape Music with extensive liner notes by Dave Reynolds!

Target was an exciting US quintet from Memphis that featured the legendary Jimi Jamison (Cobra / Survivor) on vocals. They released two albums on A&M in 1976 (Target) and 1977 (Captured). However, it has come to light that a third album was recorded in 1979, entitled In Range before the band split in 1982.

While vocalist Jimi Jamison did go on to greater heights - thanks to his stints fronting Cobra and, of course, Survivor not to mention releasing an impressive catalogue of solo records – Target were the band with whom he first made the progression from playing the bars and clubs to touring as a major label act opening for the likes of Black Sabbath and Styx. However, the debut Target LP wasn't the singer's first album recording credit. Nor bassist Tommy Cathey's either. Having started to work together in a band called Omaha in the early 70's an opportunity to hook up with another project was just too good to miss, as the latter explains: "After a stint in Omaha with Jimi, we both wanted to explore the chances of original music," recalls Cathey. "David Beaver had been doing original music for a couple of years so we gravitated to that. We did two records with D. Beaver, of which only one was released (Combinations' on the TMI label in 1973). Right after the second record, Jimi and I were ready to take the splash into forming our own band to do original music, so we teamed up with guitarist/organist Buddy Davis and formed Target. We still played cover music to pay the bills, but all along writing our own music and trying to be a good rock and roll band!" The band toured substantially back then and it was a shame that the band split before that third release saw the light of day.

In Range was recorded in the autumn of 1979: it took the band about two to three weeks to do this third album. What an album it is though, this is Target's best recording, chock full of quality songs and musicianship. Its criminal it has laid dormant for so long, but here it is for you on Escape Music.

Here is what bassist Tommy Cathey says about the recording: "I think what I'm most proud of with the third album is the maturity of our songs and the developing sound we were getting in the studio. This album doesn't sound like the first two and I consider it to be the best of the three! We produced it ourselves and I think you can tell the distinction from the first two albums. The third album is all Target with no outside help or direction! I am very proud of our efforts and I hope all our fans and a new generation of fans will appreciate the music!"

The band formed in 1987 and to celebrate their 30th Anniversary, the band will release their new album, Revelation Highway on November 10, 2017.Now Babylon A.D. presents the first video for the first song from the album Crash and Burn.

Vocalist Derek Davis on the new album: "This record kicks ass, from the opening track Crash and Burn to the last track Saturday Night. The band had a blast making the album and a lot had to do with original founding member lead-guitarist John Matthews rejoining the band. He really lit the fire that got the bands blood pumping to make a new record. For me it was awesome to produce and mix such a cool record. It's very hard hitting yet melodic, with some great lyrical storytelling and great stand out tracks like, One Million Miles, Tears, Rags to Riches and She Likes To Give It. The songs are so catchy and memorable on the first listen I know our fans are gonna love it! And of course there are some burning guitar leads to keep the Metal heads happy. The band is very grateful that Frontiers Music Srl listened to the tracks and felt the same way about them as we do and offered us the opportunity to get this record out. We can't wait to hit the road and play the material live."

Intromental is very happy to welcome the Italian Progressive Power Metal act ALTAIR onto the roster. The band rounds up a musically missing spot on the spectrum of what we can offer, namely the symphonic part of the Prog/Power genre. Aggressive as hell, but also mellow and with great melodies. A nice blend of Symphony X, old Elegy and modern Prog-Metal.

SEPTICFLESH comment on Enemy of Truth: "In the past it was much easier for someone in a position of power to silence an 'irritating' mouth. In our age, with the evolution of communication and the high speed that information can be spread to the 4 corners of the world, new elaborate methods are being employed. And many claim to fight in the name of truth, but essentially they fight against it... Many voices making noise vs few voices speaking clearly. Can this turn the other way around?"

Soaring, spiralling lead guitar work and the incredible vocals of front man Chris 'Stoz' Storozynski engage in aerial dogfights above a rugged, mountainous terrain of gritty riffs and a thunderous rhythm section. All the power and fury of thrash, the atmosphere, grandeur and emotion of doom and the boundless energy of Power Metal are gathered in and poured into the burning elixir of Forged In Black's unique take on the glorious Metal art.

Imperative PR / Meat Train release the grisly Death Metal of Random Acts Of Carnage through Contagion Records
Posted by: Denis / 28.08.2017
Imperative PR present the four disturbing individuals collectively known as MEAT TRAIN and their forthcoming slab of bludgeoning filthy Death Metal - RANDOM ACTS OF CARNAGE.

On the 29th of September a new level of horror, fear and ferocity will be pulling into a station near you. The whispered warnings have spread through the Metal underground like wildfire and now the dreaded event is upon us... Meat Train have returned. Led by their own deranged anti-priest, these sinister, soulless beasts of brutality are on a crusade of carnage. They not only want to watch the world burn, they want to kill as many people as possible as the flames engulf us all.

Contagion Records have taken it upon themselves to release Meat Train's unholy book, their bestial bible, their manual to the end of all things... Random Acts Of Carnage. The eleven hymns of horror that nestle like vipers beneath the bloody insanity of the cover art explore the darkest depths of human behaviour. From unflinching examinations of the chapters of history that shame our entire species to flesh eating fantasies and tales of the undead, Random Acts Of Carnage leaves no ghastly stone unturned, no shadowed corner unexplored.

This is real Death Metal – filthy, grinding, decimating Death Metal that will drown you in blood and have you choking and gasping for more. Featuring a gruesome, guttural, guest backing vocal performance from Svenson Groß of Fleshcrawl, a guitar sound heavy enough to reduce bodies to pulp, a vocal presence to freeze the blood and a merciless bottom end that propels the listener into the meat grinder of the relentless drum assault – this album is unstoppable.

Look beyond the doors of the Meat Train – if you dare.

High Roller Records / VULTURE - The Guillotine
Posted by: Denis / 28.08.2017
Vulture from North-Rhine Westphalia have stirred up some decent attention among Speed- and Thrash fans with their debut EP Victim To The Blade, and they are now presenting us with their first full-length album. Putting out a first full-length album of course means a lot to any band, as bassist A. Axetinctör can confirm: "It's a very exciting time right now. We put a lot of time, sweat and blood into the album over the course of the last year so it's always a very fulfilling moment to see the hard work pay off. The success of the EP put a lot of pressure on us to meet our own very high expectations with the debut album, resulting in countless long and detailed discussions about nearly everything from riffs and arrangements over the mixing and production process to the artwork and layout. But we can confirm that we are more than pleased how everything turned out and that it was worth the pain."

S. Genözider, who handles both drums and some of the guitars, adds his view on Vulture's debut: "Creating The Guillotine as been one hell of a ride, with many ups and at least as many downs along the way. The songwriting phase was very intense and accompanied by a lot of self-criticism and reflection. The time in the studio was even worse, ha-ha. It feels very good to finally hold the finished product in our hands and have our minds cleared from all doubts or troubles."

The members of Vulture also active in a bunch of other, closely related bands, such as Quintessence, Bulldozing Bastard, Luzifer, Hellhunt, Wifebeater, but right now, Vulture has become the main priority, for a couple of good reasons, as the band explains. "Vulture took nearly all of our time and attention in the last two years so the other bands were put on hold rather unintentionally than out of a clear decision. But I guess we'll re-start them again sooner or later with fresh ideas and renewed motivation," says A. Axetinctör and is seconded by M. Outlaw: "All of us also needed time to reach personal goals in their lives besides music, including the degree to our studies or the start into work life, which made it necessary to focus on the one thing or the other. With the overwhelming response we've had with Vulture, it was a pretty easy choice to fully concentrate on this band." So, the intention behind forming Vulture was a lot more than just the need for another outlet for the ideas and riffs that just didn't fit with the existing bands, as S. Genözider explains with some vehemence: "No, Vulture is definitely not a riff-dumbster. With my departure from Obsessör in 2015 I wanted to continue writing and celebrating the Thrash/Speed Metal genre. The musical idea was and still is to grab this genre by its very roots. For us this means to dig deep and draw inspiration from proto Metal and Heavy Metal's early stages. Another important aspect for us is to go beyond boundaries. May it be our own limits as musicians or for example the common structures of songs. We're trying to be surprising, wild and unpredictable, while also creating the comforting feeling that makes classical Heavy Metal so endearing."

Vulture have named Agent Steel and Slayer as big influences, plus Exodus (Paul Baloff), Dark Angel (Don Doty), Razor (Sheepdog), but S. Genözider and A. Axetinctor explain how Vulture actually deal with musical influences: "Apart from our favourite music, which we're of course influenced by, our debut EP had quite an impact on our ideas during the songwriting phase as well. We were very satisfied with the material we created beforehand and wanted to continue that streak. Each of us has been active as a musician and songwriter for many years now, we're glad to bring our own styles, visions and ideas into our songs. One set goal for VULTURE has always been to not start another copycat act. So NOT sounding like other bands is more important than 'having a riff like the own you can hear on record XY'" says S. Genözider, and the Vulture bassist can only agree to that: "Definitely. Apart from that, I'd say Thrash and Speed Metal bands only make up about 50% of our influences. The other half consists of various NWOBHM bands, a huge chunk of Judas Priest and other proto-Metal bands like Deep Purple. We developed a lot of very unique tropes, especially when it comes to arrangements, which you won't find everywhere. This includes sudden changes in speed, style or mood. There is a surprise in every song really. Generally I'd describe our music as a sped up Judas Priest record sprinkled with Bay-Area Thrash and Canadian Speed, steeped in the atmosphere of early Mercyful Fate / King Diamond."

The reactions to Vulture's debut EP were "overwhelming to put it mildly. The tape sold out in no time so we were more than happy that we got the chance to have the demo re-released on CD and vinyl. The reactions were great before and after the re-release only the amount of feedback changed because more people had access to a copy". And this great underground success did of course bring some changes about. S. Genözider on this: "What was definitely new to us was the amount of feedback we got. It was amazing to see that the EP spread that well in such a short period of time. Our hopes now with The Guillotine are to go further, to spread our music as far as possible. We're very confident with our final result and are more than nervous to publish it and show it to the people who keep constantly asking us for Victims... successor."

Even though the debut EP was a huge success, some people still found something to complain about: One reviewer that claimed that Vulture sounded a bit 'rumbling', more 'project-like' than like a 'real band'. A. Axetinctör and S. Genözider have something to say to this young anonymous man: "I don't really know how you can hear the difference between a project and a band, ha-ha, but I guess playing live shows and working on the album only helped to form more of a union and therefore a 'real band'. The album is definitely a step up from the demo, in every aspect. The songwriting is even more varied and exaggerated this time, tracks like To The Dead and Adrian's Cradle are dripping with atmosphere and our producer Marco exceeded himself with a flawless sound and mix. All in all it's a lot more professional and mature in the best sense possible." And here is S. Genözider's opinion on this matter: "Personally, I don't think we ever sounded 'rumbling' or 'project-like' on our EP. I'm quite sure that, for a first release, Victim To The Blade was a very elaborate piece of music. Now, The Guillotine is making a lot more steps into the 'elaborate' direction. I'm pretty sure we'll also please this rather skeptic reviewer." No doubt about that, especially as Vulture had set themselves some ambitious goals for the The Guillotine. A. Axetinctör explains: "The goal was pretty simple: pick up where we left off and take it to the next level. But as it turned out this was quite ambitious. Our aim was to fill the longer runtime with even more variations and interesting ideas without losing focus of what's important or become redundant, which is a thin line to walk on when making a full album. But in the end I think we managed to craft a record that catches the attention with familiar tropes, drags the listener deep into its thick atmosphere and leaves on a satisfying high note."

Vulture's approach to writing and recording music definitely mirror their high ambitions: "At first we collect riffs, loose ideas and song fragments which we try to piece together or reject afterwards. These first arrangements are then refined during a long period of discussions over the course of the following months. Solos, titles and lyrics are added and changed throughout the whole process. Some lyrics on The Guillotine were already close to a year old when we started recording, others were finished in the studio. Overall it's a very dynamic process where it is never quite sure whether something will end up on the record 'til it's actually recorded." S. Genözider on this: "When building song structures and sticking lose ends together, it's very important for us to create an atmosphere and a foundation which suits the riffs best. On the one hand, complex structures, technical riffs and progressive approaches work best when they are contrasted with simple elements and rather catchy tunes. On the other hand, simple riffs and plausible chord progressions only work out when they are the outcome of a long phase of thinking things through."

S. Genözider also tells us where and when the album was recorded, and how the production turned out so amazingly. It wasn't an easy ride: "We started recording after New Years Eve 2016. Just as for the EP, we went to work in Hellforge Studio with our good old friend and comrade in arms Marco Brinkmann. The high standards we had while writing the album also found their way inside the studio. On the one side, these standards, which also heavily infected Marco right away, provided a very determined focus in the tracking phase. Marco always tried to push us to our limits and he got the chance to do so very often. There were shitloads of parts in our songs that we were struggling with. Marco managed to push us beyond our limits. The effort we all took while tracking, both band and producer, were really worth every drop of sweat we poured on the studio's carpets. Once Marco started mixing the songs, we suddenly started to realise how nervous we were about the release. The high standards and the will to go at least one step further created a sort of disorientation on both sides. I can't count the number of mixes that have been declined. In late February, some six weeks after the tracking, we finally had been satisfied with a given mix by Marco, only to find out a week later that he himself was heavily disappointed with the mix. He decided to take a month-long break from producing The Guillotine and suddenly came back with that monster of a mix that managed to emphasize every single aspect that we love about our music and our sound. The mix is absolutely marvellous and, from our point of view, unrivalled in our genre. Every riff is like a razor cut, every shriek pierces our eardrums, and every hit of the snare makes your heart beat faster. The master, that was created in split seconds by Patrick W. Engel of Temple Of Disharmony, suits this mix in the best imaginable way. Unlike most albums of our genre, The Guillotine got a professional and, by the meaning of its name, real production. We're really proud of that. In the end Marco turned out as a fifth band member, I guess." Wow, what a story. An album that was created with so much passion definitely deserves a proper sleeve image, and Vulture sure took care of that. Vocalist L. Steeler tells us more: "The artwork for the album was once again done by the fabulous Velio Josto, an Italian artist, whose work perfectly fits our visual tastes and preferences regarding album covers. His razor-sharp realistic kind of style literally cuts the album sleeve in half with the flashing guillotine blade. The title on the backside was created by Christoph Breit, known for his work for Infected Arts." S. Genözider also emphasises the importance of putting the right man to the job: "Every aspect of a record is important, everything is part of our concept. It's very important for us to deliver the feeling of the album through our artworks and layouts. Velio Josto is the only man for that."

As The Guillotine is such a carefully crafted piece of music, is it even possible to name anything that Vulture would like fans and press to take special notice of when listening to it? We get three answers to this question. First comes S. Genözider. "I guess what makes this album stand out the most is its very well thought-through and mapped out songwriting. You can clearly hear that our tracks are not the outcome of a 20 minute rehearsal room jam. We're living up to our own high standards regarding Heavy Metal music. Every aspect of the album is calculated, nothing's left to chance. Yet, the album is vibrating, it's vivid, wild and far from sounding modern, artificial or mediocre. The Guillotine is celebrating Heavy Metal without trying to sound old school. The album and its songs are deeply rooted in the 70s and 80s, yet they are products of our time. The Guillotine is authentic, not retro. Every song stands for its own. I guess also each of us has it's own highlight." That's already a lot, but not all! A. Axetinctör: "My personal highlight is Adrian's Cradle, because it is the perfect roundup of The Guillotine. Riffs like knives, typical Heavy Metal melody parts and a thick atmosphere. The great guest vocals from Olof of Enforcer, which we got to know in London last year, are capping it all off. Besides all that Genozider managed to create the most magic moment of the album in the melodic middle parts." And vocalist Leo can still add to that: "That's the way I feel about Cry For Death. The last song for me is absolutely spot on. This one's summarizing Speed Metal in a perfect way and is a great closure to our album. The catchy, glimmering intro theme, followed by power riffs and ultra violence takes no prisoners at all."

That is a perfect description, and it is also a good bridge to the last question: Lyric-wise, Vulture so far have been concentrating on classic horror stories and suspense movies. Has that changed with The Guillotine? And, for all history geeks among the readers: is the album title maybe a hint to the French Revolution, the not-so-glorious heyday of the guillotine? M. Outlaw negates that assumption and explains: "No, actually the album has nothing to do with the French Revolution. Triumph Of The Guillotine was the first song that was finished right after the release of our EP and it should mark the direction we were about to go nto. On the new album you'll hear stories about sharpened knives, serial killers and horror. You can regard our lyrics more like a metaphor for our sound, which I'd describe as 'faster than the falling blade of a guillotine!'" That's a good one! And S. Genözider has the last word: "We're huge fan of old horror classics. Themes and also complete stories that have the most impact on us also find their way into our songs. So, This Night Belongs To The Dead is about John Carpenter's masterpiece 'The Fog', while Adrian's Cradle is telling the story of my favourite movie 'Rosemary's Baby'."

"It's the bridge connecting Unreal Terror's past and future, a statement of who we are as band today", claims Palermi, underlining "time is the pervasive theme that dominates the entire new album, even if it's not a concept-album." And adding "We expect this new album to please our historic fanbase as well as attract new followers, we are very excited to release this new work and write a new chapter in our career."

The New Chapter contains 10 brand new songs whose style echoes classic Heavy Metal tradition, but with a modern perspective.

  10. Western Skies
  • Luciano Palermi - Vocals

Unreal Terror were born in 1984 under the will of Mario Di Donato, Enio Nicolini, Silvio Canzano (guitar, bass and drums, respectively) from the ashes of cult band Unreal Terror with Italian lyrics only. Luciano Palermi replaced Benedetto Spinazzola on vocals and with this line-up they first recorded mini Heavy & Dangerous (1985) and then, first full lenght-album Hard Incursion (1986) with Giuseppe Continenza replacing Mario Di Donato who started his own projects with cult doomsters Requiem first and later with The Black. In 1989 Unreal Terror broke down definitely, when both Palermi and Continenza left for USA.

Unreal Terror have been protagonists of Italian Heavy Metal scene in 80's, among bands as Strana Officina, Death SS, Sabotage, Vanexa, Vanadium, Fil di Ferro, etc.

Unexpected reunion is reality in 2012 (with Enio's son, Iader, on guitar instead of Continenza), thanks to a never ending interest towards the band, when they played live at Heavy Metal Night Festival and then, after the CD reissue of Hard Incursion (with 4 bonus tracks), at fourth edition of 'Acciaio Italiano' festival, in 2014, together with Strana Officina, The Black, White Skull, both well-known and appreciated HM festivals in Italy.

Cruz del Sur Music / LADY BEAST enters studio to record 'Vicious Breed' album
Posted by: Denis / 24.08.2017
Pittsburgh, PA NWOBHM-inspired upstarts LADY BEAST will be entering +/- Studios in early September to record their third full-length album, Vicious Breed, which will also serve as the band's first release for Italy's Cruz Del Sur Music. Jason Jouver will be handling production duties; Karl Dahmer has been enlisted to create the album's cover.

Comments guitarist Twiz: "Musically, I'd say it's a continuation of the Metal Immortal EP. Some of the songs were written at the same time as the songs on the EP. I think it's our most dynamic and diverse album to date. We have fast songs (Vicious Breed), heavy songs (Lone Hunter), melodic songs, a ballad (Always With Me), rockers (Get Out Of My Way), and an instrumental. I'm probably most proud of the songs on this than I am of other stuff I've written."

"I am very proud of the melodies and lyrical content on this album", adds vocalist Deborah Levine. "I have a bit of a formula when I start writing lyrics. The music and feel of the song obviously help the direction I turn, but also I like to have a skeleton of the same idea for each album. The song of an epic story, the hopeful song, the metal ripper, etc. Each is important as it builds the album as a whole. On Vicious Breed, we have our first ballad, on which it will be fun to slow it down and have people hear a different side of us."

Vicious Breed is set for release on Oct 13, 2017, after which, LADY BEAST hopes to embark on their most expansive run of shows to date.

"We are excited to release our third full-length, but first release with Cruz Del Sur", concludes the band. "This is by far our greatest album yet and we are excited to get out there and play it for the world. We have goals of more international touring in the next year. Europe is our biggest goal right now and we are networking as we speak trying to plan a LADY BEAST European tour, as well as touring in the States and writing new music!"

Posted by: Denis / 24.08.2017
UK Progressive Metal quintet THRESHOLD are set to release their colossal double album Legends Of The Shires on September 8th via Nuclear Blast. In anticipation of the new release, the band have started rolling out trailers discussing various aspects of the album. In current trailer, keyboard player Richard West discusses Glynn Morgan returning to take on vocal duties for the first time since 1994's Psychedelicatessen album, as well as the cameo appearance by founder member Jon Jeary.

Speaking about the track and video, Karl Groom commented: "The people at Sitcom Soldiers have created just the right atmosphere in our new video clip and it was an enjoyable experience to film for the band. We managed to find some excellent extras and tortured them with freezing showers in the clip, with some travelling as far as Sweden for the pleasure! It is great to have Glynn back in the band with 'Small Dark Lines' showcasing all his power and versatility. This single should give people another glimpse into the double album Legends Of The Shires and an idea of what is to come on release day 8 September 2017."

PURE STEEL RECORDS / IRON CURTAIN official video 'Take It Back' released
Posted by: Denis / 23.08.2017
IRON CURTAIN has released a new video for the song Take It Back. That song is on the album Guilty As Charged, which was released October 14th, 2016 via PURE STEEL RECORDS.

With the Spanish Heavy/Speed Metal warriors, IRON CURTAIN, the label has another upcoming, young band in the catalogue.

Already with the two predecessors Road To Hell (2012) and Jaguar Spirit (2013) the quartet from Iberia took care of getting a good reputation. Also with their third album Guilty As Charged they offer 8 new songs and one exclusive bonus track for the CD release, where you can feel the spirit of old Motörhead, Tank, Exciter with some touches of Accept, Riot, Def Leppard every single second.

Simple, beer dipped doublebass tracks about all the good things in life, rough yet melodic vocals and flawless twin guitar leads go hand in hand with an authenticity, which is out of competition.

SECRET RULE was formed in the beginning of 2014 with the intention to create a special sound with powerful rhythms and catchy melodies. The band is fronted by the powerful voice of Angela Di Vincenzo (Kyla Moyl), masterminded by lead guitarist Andy Menario (Martiria) who has worked with big names such as Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio), Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Foreigner), and Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot). The line-up is completed by bassist Michele Raspanti (Graal) and drummer Nicola Corrente (Enemynside, Stick it out, Starkiller Sound).

In February 2015, the group released their debut Transposed Emotions (Rocksector Records) - a concept, a mixture of facts and tales which analyse our society with a look at a post apocalyptic era. The album was recorded in 2014; produced, mixed and mastered at Antfam Studios in Denmark by Tue Madsen (Halford, The Haunted, Mnemic, Hatesphere, Ektomorf), while the artwork was created by Simona Speedy Saccoccia. After some gigs in Italy, the band went on tour in Switzerland, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland and the UK, taking part in some festivals such as the SOS Fest in the UK and the WIZZ FEST in Belgium.

In October 2015, SECRET RULE started recording their second album Machination. The line-up for the new long player also included Sander Zoer (ex Delain, Leah) on drums, Henrik Klingenberg (Sonata Arctica) on keyboards and other special guests such as Stefan Helleblad (Within Temptation), Timo Somers (Delain), Fabio D'Amore (Serenity) and Janneke De Rooy (Paper Doll Decay). This release again was produced, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Antfarm Studio) and the artwork created by Simona Speedy Saccoccia.

The CD got a release on June 24th, 2016 on Scarlet Records with two tours to follow in July and August covering Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, the UK, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. On 7 October in Wetzicon at the Hall of Fame venue, the Italians supported Serenity and on 29 January, they opened for Delain.

Early in 2017 SECRET RULE supported Blaze Bayley for some gigs and then started to work on new material. The new album The Key to the World will be released by Pride & Joy Music on November 10th, 2017. Henrik Klingenberg (Sonata Arctica) and two new guests on this new CD, Henning Basse (Firewind, MaYan) and Ailyn Giménez (ex Sirenia), also appear on this third release of the band. It again was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Antfarm Studio, Denmark); Fabio D'amore (Serenity) handled the pre-production and Simona Speedy Saccoccia took care of the artwork again. In addition, music videos for the tracks Twin Flames, The Song Of The Universe, Imaginary World feat. all three guests will be released in advance to the album release. The band has already scheduled some gigs for next months. In November, they will be direct support for Kobra and the Lotus.

Nuclear Blast / DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER unveil the music video of 'Auf Und Nieder'
Posted by: Denis / 23.08.2017
DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER release a new song from their upcoming album Der Rote Reiter (out: August 25th, 2017)! For youth protection reasons, the provocative and juicy video clip of Auf Und Nieder can be only seen in a censored version on common video platforms. Also you can try to watch the original uncutted version.

The band comments: "As there's a lot of violence everywhere on social media we don't really understand why a nude woman in a video clip causes so much hysteria! As you can see we had a lot of fun shooting this clip and we hope that the positive drive of the song will also infect our fans. There's a reason why the lyrics of the song mean something like: 'up and down, again and again, life is music and it needs more songs' (translated from German into English). We hope your eyes and ears will enjoy this song!"

Imperative PR / Solitary head to the trenches and join the fight to save The Venue, Selby
Posted by: Denis / 22.08.2017
Solitary haven't emerged from their rehearsal room since their successful mini-tour of the Netherlands in June, but when they heard that an old friend and supporter of the band was in trouble, they immediately stepped up to the plate.

Ian Wright was the owner of the Riverside club in Selby, where Solitary recorded their incendiary 2014 live album, I Promise To Thrash Forever, but since then Ian has expanded his operations, moving to The Venue, a much larger premises, but still based in Selby. The Venue has hosted successful events such as Metal 2 The Masses and Darkfest and is the adopted home of the Warhorns Festival. However legal wrangles with the local council have left The Venue's future looking precarious, with crippling financial issues making closure a very real possibility.

To fight the threat of closure Ian has decided to put on a two day festival to try and raise desperately needed funds and Solitary have answered the call.

The FIGHTBACK! Festival will take place on the bank holiday weekend of 27th and 28th August 2017 at The Venue, with Solitary playing on the 27th which is the heavier of the two days, musically speaking.

Speaking about the event Solitary's Rich Sherrington said: "We've kept in touch with Ian, despite the fact that we've not played in Selby for a couple of years and it's gutting to hear of the problems he's had since moving to The Venue. All over the country music venues are closing and when someone tries to improve the situation they face massive problems, despite being initially granted the licences and planning permission. That's just not right and we can't sit by and let it happen."

With drummer Royston adding: "We were more than happy to offer our services, as Ian's been good to us over the years. We haven't played live since we came back from the Netherlands in June so it's a good way of getting us in shape for the rest of our UK shows in the run up to Christmas."

Completing the super-heavy Sunday 27th line up, along with Solitary, will be Eleventh Hour, Morpheus Rising, Dychosis, Korvus.

KRONIN is back
Posted by: Denis / 21.08.2017
New York Metal outfit KRONIN are getting a reboot, as their sole full-length album How Do You Start This Thing? is now available for the first time in 24 years. Just re-pressed by No Dust Records, the 2017 edition of this highly sought-after CD has been digitally remastered by Peter Van't Riet (Ayreon, Epica, Symphony X) and includes two bonus tracks originally recorded for a follow-up single, but never issued. The package also features a redesigned cover and 10-page booklet with rare photos, lyrics and band bio.

Formed in 1986, KRONIN spliced angular grooves with breakneck Thrash blasts, set against fierce but melodic vocals that called for social awareness. Delivering over-the-top stage shows, they were regarded as local heroes and gained international attention via print zines and demo traders. Without label assistance, KRONIN self-financed their debut CD How Do You Start This Thing? in 1993. Up-and-coming Finnish Metal revivalists MAUSOLEUM GATE have released the lyric video for Solomon's Key. The song is culled from their forthcoming sophomore Into A Dark Divinity album, which is set for a September 8 release by Cruz Del Sur Music.

Stocked with the band's now-trademark guitar harmonies along with the theatrical, stratospheric voice of V-P Varpula, Solomon's Key is a total throwback to when classy songwriting and imagery ruled above all else. Adorned with images from Into A Dark Divinity's album cover, the lyric video for Solomon's Key is just a small glimpse of the majesty that awaits.

Into A Dark Divinity is the follow-up to MAUSOLEUM GATE's critically-acclaimed 2014 self-titled debut. Like its predecessor, Into A Dark Divinity capitalizes upon MAUSOLEUM GATE's inventive blend of DEEP PURPLE-like dynamics and IRON MAIDEN guitar interplay, all topped off with the high-wire vocals of Varpula. Singular, alluring and able to captivate audiences of all varieties, MAUSOLEUM GATE represent a new front in authentic vintage Metal.

Cruz del Sur Music / ARGUS premieres ‘You Are The Curse’ lyric video; prepares for European tour with HIGH SPIRITS
Posted by: Denis / 03.08.2017
Pittsburgh, PA traditional Metal force ARGUS have released the lyric video for You Are The Curse, which is taken from their forthcoming From Fields Of Fire album. The LP is set for a September 8 release via Cruz Del Sur Music.

Comments vocalist Brian 'Butch' Balich: "You Are The Curse was the first song we wrote for From Fields Of Fire. Dave Watson brought it in and it immediately fit. I knew we had exciting things coming for the album when it came together. It's classic ARGUS and a good song to introduce From Fields of Fire to our friends worldwide. It's an up-tempo, rhythmically aggressive but melodic song shot through with dark undertones. Lyrically, this song deals with the idea that sometimes we need look no further than ourselves for why things go wrong in our lives…as you sow so shall you reap. It's been a live mainstay for about a year-and-a-half and one we expect to play often."

To coincide with the release of From Fields Of Fire, ARGUS is embarking on a nine-date European tour with Chicago high-energy rock heroes HIGH SPIRITS. The tour kicks off September 8 in Dornbirn, Austria, culminating with their September 16 appearance at the Storm Crusher festival in Püchersreuth, Germany.

"HIGH SPIRITS have been friends of ours for several years and a band we all really dig a lot", says Balich. "We are very excited that this came together — it's going to be a great show for the fans of both bands — the energy HIGH SPIRITS and ARGUS put out on stage is very high, and I think we complement and balance each other as well. It truly is a can't miss show. We'll be playing material from the new album, of course, but expect to hear something from every album including a couple songs we haven't played in a long time. All of us in ARGUS cannot wait to return to Europe. It's something we look forward to doing every year and this trip is going to be a blast getting to hang out with and watch HIGH SPIRITS every night, too!"
HIGH SPIRITS + ARGUS 'Motivatour' European tour schedule:

Frontiers Music / Tyketto - Live From Milan 2017
Posted by: Denis / 03.08.2017
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the first live release by Tyketto, LIVE FROM MILAN 2017! The CD/ DVD, Blu-Ray, Vinyl, and MP3 (audio only) will be out on October 13, 2017!

Danny Vaughn says: "It's been 25 years in the making. From the beginning our goal was to always put on the best live show we could possibly do. This, more than anything else, is what has kept the band alive in the hearts and minds of the fans. And the quotes that our fans have kindly provided for us in the CD booklet bear this out. We are a no frills, no gimmicks, warts and all, balls out rock and roll band. No more, no less. And our audience are family to us. They are just as responsible for how good this concert is as we are. Everybody brought their best game. All that's left to do is to sit back and enjoy!"

The line-up comprised of founding members vocalist Danny Vaughn and drummer Michael Clayton Arbeeny along with guitar wizard Chris Green, bassist Chris Childs (THUNDER) and ex-TEN keyboardist Ged Rylands, TYKETTO co-headlined 'Day 1' of FRF IV and blew the roof off with their performance of the classic Don’t Come Easy album from back to front (yes, back to front, not front to back)! Cameras were there to capture every riveting moment and now, with great pleasure, Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to release this special performance on CD/DVD and Blu-Ray! Michael Arbeeny says: "If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a thousand pictures. Tyketto - Live in Milan 2017 not only brings the songs of DON'T COME EASY to life, but also shows the passion and excitement the band takes onstage at every performance. LIVE IN MILAN is simply five brothers enjoying the hell out of what they do... with a few thousand friends stopping by to join the party."

Tyketto's debut album, Don't Come Easy is considered a landmark release amongst Melodic Hard Rock albums of the late '80s/early '90s. While the band has continuously put out quality recordings over the years, fans and critics alike hold the debut album in especially high regard. So, it was with great pleasure that after releasing the band's most recent studio album, Reach, Frontiers invited the band to play Frontiers Rock Festival IV in Milan, IT to not only play tracks from more recent releases, but to play Don't Come Easy in it's entirety to an adoring audience!

High Roller Records / ARMOROS - Apparitions - An Ode to Thrash
Posted by: Denis / 03.08.2017
Armoros from Victoria, British Columbia, formed in 1985, and they recorded their stunning debut in 1988. Add some bad luck to the story and you know why it took this Thrash masterpiece almost thirty years to finally be released the way it was meant to in the first place. Pieces came out via High Roller Records in 2015 and it definitely has made some waves in the wider thrash scene. Now Armoros are presenting their fans with another release, a double LP compilation bearing the enticing title AApparitions - an Ode to Thrash.

Rick Lee, who handles both vocals and bass in Armoros, tells us what we can expect from this new release. It has all the demo songs, that's for sure, but are there not also some previously unreleased tracks on it, like e.g. Headsman? Rick: "Well, the compilation has all the songs from all our demos and yes, a rehearsal version of Dementia which was originally called The Headsman. After our former vocalist Kevin Wright left we didn't have the lyrics for it so I rewrote it as Dementia, but for some reason I didn't want to sing it, so Jed took that one."

Where and when were the songs recorded that are now brought together on this release? Of course, Rick still remembers this, and all the details, too: "Debut Assault was recorded at a college in Victoria as a project for a friend's communications course. Ressurecdead was recorded at Roan Sound Recording studio (I think we paid $200 for it). Remember Michelle was actually recorded twice... the first time was at some guy's home recording studio and we all hated it!!! So we redid it at Downtown Sound if I remember correctly... The '92 Demo was recorded at Degrasee Studio but was never finished for various reasons. Hence it has no guitar solos and isn't mixed or mastered... really raw material."

For sure each single demo must have meant an important step for the band. The second and third demo brought Armoros some decent attention around the world, including reviews in Kerrang! and Metal Forces, right? "Well, Debut was an important recording for a few reasons... I joined the band during that session and Jed had left to work in the Alberta oil fields but came back near the end so it helped form what would become the later version of the band. Also, it gave us a start to building a following in our home town by selling a few copies in our local music store. Ressurecdead was kinda the first recording of what would become ARMOROS. We went through a really uncertain time after Kevin left, and that demo was the result of us coming through the other side. We were resurrected. It is also the one we got a great review in Metal Forces for and it put us out there internationally. Remember Michelle I think really solidified us as a band. We were all living together at the time and had the same vision. And it also got good reviews in Metal Forces and Kerrang! The '92 demo was a double-edged sword. We had split up for a couple years and we attempted to get back together, and you can really hear the musical growth we had all gone through. And although I’m proud of it some would argue it's not a PURE Armoros recording... but I guess fans can decide for themselves."

In our last conversation, Rick mentioned that some of his friends were knee-deep into tape trading back then. How did this help to get Armoros' music out into the world? And does he think there are still some original copies around? "Having friends who were into tape trading showed us that 'Hey, if these bands can do it... so can we!' I sent 10 copies out to random people from the back of Metal Forces for free just to see what the response would be, and it developed from there. We had a pretty extensive mailing list at one point... and yes, I'm pretty sure at least a few of our friends still have original copies around."

Last time Rick also mentioned that the local scene in Victoria was very small, and that people were at best listening to bands like The Scorpions. So, how did the band's local and personal environment actually react to the demos? Were Armoros heard at all, did they get a chance to play live, or were they rather treated like a group of Thrash Metal outcasts? Rick on that: "The first demo kinda kicked it off. We sold a few copies locally and people seemed to like it despite the questionable quality. This in turn attracted some people to our first shows. I don't think a lot of the other bands liked us too much early on, but the scene grew after a while and there were more bands like us popping up. Eventually there was a great scene happening. There was a local magazine that did an extensive article on us back then, and they called us 'The grandfathers of Victoria Metal'... never dawned on me before... but I guess they were kinda right."

Now let's get back into the present, back to the new release. Does the title Apparitions – an Ode to Thrash allude to the song title Apparition of Force which first appeared on the Remember Michelle demo? "Yes, it does. When High Roller was asking what we might want to call it, it occurred to me that these songs are like GHOSTS from the past. That triggered the word apparitions, which had been part of one of our songs. It didn't fly right away... and after Ode to Thrash was submitted, I resubmitted my idea, and everyone liked the idea of adding them together."

In how far does Apparitions – an Ode to Thrash differ from the compilation that came out in 2008 on the Brazilian label Marquee Records (Piece by Piece – the Anthology)? Rick explains: "Well, it's been completely re-mastered and it is a 2 LP vinyl gate fold with great cover art. It's really an attempt to give fans a comprehensive package – just get the music out there in a fun old school way. This will be a collector for any fan of the band." Sure he's right there.

As Rick just mentioned before, all the songs were remastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony. What was working with him like? How much has actually been changed about the old recordings? "Patrick did another amazing job. It's cleaner, it's brighter... he really pulled everything out of those old recordings he could... he's a Metal God." He surely loves to hear that.

The compilation also comes with an amazing, grim and dark cover artwork – who contributed it? "Our guitarist Mike Sudar used to do all our artwork. He sent some stuff to the High Rollers graphic department and Alexander von Wielding did an amazing cover for it. He also redesigned our symbol (it's on the back). He also did a great job on the layout."

If we now take a look at the more recent past: What has changed for Armoros since the debut Pieces was finally released properly in 2015? Did they finally get a bit of the recognition they deserve? "You know, I'm still amazed at the longevity the music has. We are the band that just won't die! We get likes constantly on our Facebook page, people are still discovering us, and that's pretty amazing." That truly is amazing. Do Armoros also receive any offers to play live? Have they maybe actually thought about reforming the band? Rick gives a somewhat hopeful answer to this one: "Someone mentioned that on Facebook the other day. It's not in the realm of impossibility but it would take a lot of things to align... Mike and I still play a couple of those songs from time to time... Jed is across the country and busy... but I think if we were to get an offer that is worthwhile... maybe some European festivals or something... could see an avenue to make that happen... but it's a long shot." So, let's just hope that all the right people get to read this answer.

Now what is left to say about Apparitions – an Ode to Thrash? Rick: "Just a BIG thank you to all who have supported the band all these years... and a BIG thank you to HIGH ROLLER for believing in our music enough to invest in us... If you haven't already, order PIECES, order APPARITIONS – an Ode to Thrash, and Keep Thrashing!"

InsideOut Music / Next To None launch 'Mr Mime' stream from new album 'Phases'
Posted by: Denis / 03.08.2017
Rising young metallers Next To None released their sophomore album Phases at the end of June, in Europe via InsideOutMusic & in North America via EMP. Now they have launched a stream of the track Mr Mime.

"Mr. Mime has different vibe then most of our other songs on the album, the chorus is melodic yet creepy and something you wouldn't expect to hear", comments the bands bassist Kris Rank. Vocalist Thomas Cuce adds "Some people know of Mr. Mime as a Pokémon but it's actually about Stockholm Syndrome and the person being abused is like a mime in the relationship."
InsideOut Music Introducing SONS OF APOLLO
Posted by: Denis / 03.08.2017
SONS OF APOLLO: the new supergroup featuring members of Dream Theater, Mr. Big, Guns 'N Roses, Journey.

For the past few months, rumours have been circulating about a new secret project including former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian. Now, the time has come to make the grand and highly anticipated introduction to their new band, SONS OF APOLLO.

Reuniting to form SONS OF APOLLO, Portnoy and Sherinian have joined forces with Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal (ex-Guns N' Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force). Their debut album, PSYCHOTIC SYMPHONY, will be released 20th October on InsideOutMusic/Sony Music.

PSYCHOTIC SYMPHONY was produced by the dynamic production duo of Portnoy and Sherinian, also affectionately known as 'The Del Fuvio Brothers', which is the nickname given to them over 20 years ago during their time together in Dream Theater.

SONS OF APOLLO got together very organically, as Portnoy explains: "Derek and I reunited shortly after I left Dream Theater in 2010 and we put together an all-instrumental touring band with he and I, Billy Sheehan, and Tony MacAlpine. That was my first time working with Derek since the '90s when he was in Dream Theater and it was just great to be working with him again. Ever since that tour, which was really just a one-off live thing, he has been nudging me to start a real, original, full-time band. The timing just had never been right, because I had too many other things on my plate. Long story short, the time was finally right to take the bait and put together a band."

"Mike and I work at a relentless pace in the studio", continues Sherinian. "The music is modern, but we have an old school soul. What is unique about SONS OF APOLLO is that we have true rock n' roll swagger along with the virtuosity - a lethal combination!"

But what to call the next great supergroup? "Derek was mainly the one behind the name", says Portnoy. "I have a list that I keep on my phone of about a hundred different band names, which I constantly have to refer to every time I have a new band every year (laughs). So, I pulled up the list and Apollo was one of the names on the list. It was a word that both of us really liked. We started fiddling with different variations of the word. One of the original band names we were working with was Apollo Creed, the character from the 'Rocky' movies, but after lots of different discussions on different variations, Derek suggested SONS OF APOLLO and it seemed to stick. Apollo is the God of Music so with that in mind it seemed like a fitting name."

Mike Portnoy, Derek Sherinian, Billy Sheehan previously toured together in 2012 and 2013 as PSMS (along with guitarist Tony MacAlpine), playing all instrumental versions from each of their previously recorded music. SONS OF APOLLO is the next logical progression by adding a vocalist and creating all-original material. The band incorporates the progressive style and individual technical prowess that Portnoy & Sherinian shared together in Dream Theater combined with the swagger and groove of Van Halen, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin.

"I have known Mike and Derek for a long time, so when they came to me with Sons of Apollo, I jumped on this straight away", says Thomas Waber, Label Manager/A&R International of InsideOutMusic. "However, the album they ended up recording exceeded my already high expectations by a long mile! We couldn't be happier about it!"

SONS OF APOLLO will hit the road in 2018 for their first worldwide tour.

"This is a real band", Portnoy declares. "This is going to pick up for me and Billy where The Winery Dogs left off, in terms of this being the next logical full-time thing for us. I'm not saying The Winery Dogs have broken up, because we haven't, we're just on a break. SONS OF APOLLO is absolutely going to be a full-time band and we plan on touring all over the world all throughout 2018 and, honestly, it is the priority for all five of us."

Sherinian agrees, "We will go on a worldwide crusade in 2018 to bring SONS OF APOLLO to as many people as possible. Apollo was the God of Music, and we are his mighty offspring!"
Nuclear Blast / ACCEPT worldwide live stream of the big WACKEN show, second track-by-track trailer revealed
Posted by: Denis / 03.08.2017
On Thursday, ACCEPT celebrate the album's live premiere exclusively with a special show at Wacken Open Air, Germany. The set will consist of three parts and can be seen worldwide on a live stream from 20.00 - 22.00 CEST.

Part one will bring fans a classic ACCEPT set, packed with new and old hits. Part two will present another premiere: Wolf Hoffmann will be playing tracks from his solo album Headbangers Symphony for the very first time. On this record, Wolf has covered famous opuses by composers such as Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart, in a Metal guise. And in Part three, all elements can be seen and heard together: ACCEPT will make the holy Wacken ground shake by sharing the stage with the orchestra, supported by a complex multimedia show.

This unique concert experience will take place on this year's 'Night To Remember' which makes it even more special. The 'Night To Remember' is a celebrated, long-lasting Wacken tradition; for one night of the festival a selection of established bands will do something unique and special with their performance.

Wolf Hoffmann stated: "It's always impressive to see how bands take this evening seriously and how much love the artists and the organising team put into their work to get a varied result. It's a great tradition which underlines and documents the top-notch level of the international rock community like nothing else. We also want to present something that ACCEPT has never done before, we hope we can give something really special to the fans."

"ACCEPT have been and are still a very important part of Germany's Heavy Metal scene. We're really looking forward to having them with us once more. With this epic concept, the Thursday evening will be one to remember for sure," stated Thomas Jensen, organiser of Wacken Open Air.

Now ACCEPT also reveal their second track-by-track trailer, in which Wolf Hoffmann talks about the songs Koolaid, No Regrets, Analog Man.

SPV / ALPHA TIGER release new single and video
Posted by: Denis / 02.08.2017
German Metal band ALPHA TIGER release a new single and video for the song Comatose. The track is taken from their forthcoming studio album Alpha Tiger.

Guitar player Peter Langforth: "'is it just me or is the world completely out of mind?' In a time when smart-phones dominate everyday life, I'm afraid that this question is becoming more and more common. We approached this issue with a wink and asked ourselves, how people would have responded to it more than a hundred years ago. The song COMATOSE forms the musical bridge between our third record iDentity and the new album, and thus reflects the traditional side of the album. We wish you a lot of fun with the clip!"

Nuclear Blast / PÄNZER to release new album 'Fatal Command' on October 6th
Posted by: Denis / 02.08.2017
Get your denim and run for cover: they are rolling again! Two and a half years after their infamous wake-up call Send Them All To Hell, Heavy Metal saviours PÄNZER have returned to the scene. Fatal Command will be released on October 6th via Nuclear Blast, and the record stands for what all four members have in common - the love for pure fuckin' Heavy Metal.

"We pay tribute to our early days and the era of NWOBHM", comments Schmier. "The new songs are faster, heavier, catchy and even more melodic, without being commercial at all. We wanna keep the old and original Metal spirit alive."

Fatal Command lives and breathes Heavy Metal like a few other albums of recent years do. It is a monolith of a record on which the tempestuous music, the provocative artwork and Schmier's social-criticism come together under a metallic and indestructible hide, courtesy of Little Creek Studio in Basel, Switzerland. One thing, however, is setting Fatal Command apart from the perfect Heavy Metal record: "There's no ballad! But as the singer, I wanted to spare mankind", he laughs. Consequently, PÄNZER prefer to hit the throttle and concentrate on kicking as much ass as possible. Fatal Command proudly wears the insignia that so many current bands are lacking, a bold statement against wimps and posers. PÄNZER swear a solemn oath on Fatal Command: They will be true to Heavy Metal in good as well as in bad times, in sickness and in health. They will love it and honour it all the days of their lives until death does them part. Amen!

After the departure of Herman Frank (ACCEPT), PÄNZER recruited Pontus Norgren of HAMMERFALL to aid their warfare, as well as V.O. Pulver (G.U.R.D., POLTERGEIST) on guitar, who already helped out for their latest live shows and now became a fulltime member of PÄNZER. "After producing the debut with PANZER, the guys asked me to help them out live to provide the double axe-attack on stage", remembers V.O. Pulver. "Of course I took the chance to rock out with my buddies. And when the opportunity came up to join them permanently, I didn't hesitate to accept and now I can't wait to play the sound of my youth!" Also Pontus was just as excited to join the Heavy Metal war machine: "It was not a hard decision when I got asked to join PÄNZER, it was a straight YES! To be able to create music with good friends is the most important thing in my world and in this band, having fun when making music, is number one."

IRONFLAME is a traditional Heavy/Power Metal entity born of multi-instrumentalist Andrew D'Cagna. Although the music of IRONFLAME finally came to life in late-2016, its growth into fruition had been decades in the making. Andrew grew up in the late-'80s/early-'90s listening to classic Metal acts like Iron Maiden, Savatage, Helloween, Judas Priest. He was also lucky enough to have been blessed with a singing voice that lent itself well to the genre. Despite Andrew's given ability, however, he rarely used it instead becoming influenced by more extreme realms of Metal and pursuing such musical interests for 15 years, playing various instruments in death and black Metal bands.

Andrew was then recruited by renowned guitarist Jim Dofka as vocalist for the band Dofka, where he honed his raw vocal talent and learned how to sing properly through 2010, performing on the Humanity Bleak album. Years later, upon the untimely death of a mutual friend, Dofka reunited for a one-night performance in October of 2016. These events stirred up many old feelings, and Andrew felt it was time to write an album of purely traditional Metal. Thus, IRONFLAME was born.

The end result is Lightning Strikes the Crown: a 40-minute tribute to the glory days of Heavy Metal. Free of pretension and arrogance, the music of IRONFLAME is catchy, familiar, and hook-laden—just good old fist-banging Metal that is as honest as it is memorable. All of the instruments and vocals were performed/recorded by Andrew himself, with the exception of a handful of local guitar buddies recruited for solos Jim Dofka among them.
