Imperative PR / In-Defilade, featuring Jon Vesano (ex-Nile) release crushing second album, Elude. Death Metal with guest solos from Dallas Toler-Wade (ex-Nile)
Posted by: Denis / 23.10.2017
Imperative PR are immensely proud to announce that we will be working with In-Defilade, to promote their breathtaking maelstrom of a second album, Elude. This album delivers sheer, heart-shaking power from the first note to the last. As the music moves through an array of moods and tempos, from the insidious slithering dread of The Collapse to the tumultuous torrent of riffs and indefatigable blast beat assaults of Fearing The Worst, you can only listen in awe. A sense of supreme confidence radiates from these songs, an unshakeable self knowledge that In-Defilade stand tall, subservient to none.

In-Defilade was first created by Jon Vesano, the man whose mighty bass and vocal roar can be heard on Nile’s revered Annihilation Of The Wicked and In Their Darkened Shrines albums and who fronted the dark, underground treasure of Dark Moon. For the first In-Defilade album, Rulers Of Famine, Vesano was joined by Vesperian Sorrow’s Subverseraph and guitarist Shawn Lee Bozarth – known for his work with legendary thrash outfits Defiance and Ulysses Siren. Before work commenced on Elude Bozarth stood down from the ranks, but Vesano and Subverseraph ensnared drum master Erik Schultek (ex-Narcotic Wasteland) and the resulting chemistry is terrifying in its potency.

Vesano’s vocals have never sounded as venomous as they do on Elude, blending brutality with a biting clarity as he enunciates his disdain for the weakness of humanity. The thunderous barrage of the rhythm section is soul-shaking, overwhelming, intimidating in its sheer unfathomable power and the riffs are a firestorm that fuses complexity with immediacy, a nuclear explosion of bewildering velocity, yet rife with barbed, inescapable hooks. Adding still further to the fearsome weaponry at In-Defilade’s disposal on this titanic album are two very special guests... Dallas Toler-Wade, an essential element of the Nile sound for twenty years, brings the howling chaos of his guitar solos, while Neska of After Life and Unbreath adds her voice of unbridled fury.

In-Defilade are coming and you have a choice to make – ride the storm with them, or be torn asunder as it passes over you. Elude is Death Metal of inhuman power and it will not be denied.

Australian Melodic Heavy/Power Metal band ILIUM reissues their debut album as a double CD featuring both their bombastic completely re-written and re-recorded version with additional bonus track with new cover art and the original version in one package.

Now available through Nightmare Records, this very special reissue hosts the return of (Lord / Dungeon) vocalist Lord Tim, who previously sang on the bands Permian Dusk and Vespertilion albums.

From the band on why... "The inspiration to re-record our debut was simple - we were very proud of our first album and it was no longer in print but we wanted to do something special and reintroduce it. When we wrote many of these songs originally, they were from our old band Oracle... and as such, in many ways, our first album was as much an Oracle album as ILIUM. The experience of growing into this new band made us look upon the debut with a fresh outlook, so we thought 'why not record this album as though it had never been released'. And that is what we did!"

With Ilium's 2017 release Sirens Of The Styx: Re-Styxed, the band has come full circle. In 2003 Ilium released their debut album Sirens Of The Styx with vocalist Mark Snedden and producer Lord Tim (Lord, ex-Dungeon, and who went on to sing lead on the next two Ilium releases) - an epic debut with music by twin guitarists Adam Smith and Jason Hodges. Now, six albums later, the band has revisited this classic with a fresh approach. To celebrate the re-release of the debut, the group's driving forces Smith and Hodges have invited Lord Tim back to the microphone for a completely re-written and re-recorded version, featuring the brand new track Ode Of The Trans-Dimensional Puppeteer as well as re-worked classics such as Antigone, The Celestial Sphere, Incipience: Beowulf Defeats Grendel, Half-Life and the epic title track. Sirens Of The Styx: Re-Styxed is the result of a band that has embraced the most dramatic elements of power metal legends such as Helloween, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, combined with the classic Metal bombast of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, and with a few technical Thrash and Progressive elements thrown in to their epic mix to produce a unique yet familiar sound.

METALMESSAGE / INFINITAS (Female fronted Folk Heavy Metal) album 'CIVITAS INTERITUS'
Posted by: Denis / 17.10.2017
These five Swiss Metal individualists hail from the picturesque Muotathal. In 2009 the initiators founded their extraordinary band INFINITAS. The first concerts were followed by new songs. In 2015 the participants debuted with the 3-track EP Self-Destruction. In the following, the intentionally willful and stylistically open yet very organic style developed relatively quickly: melodically catchy loaded FOLK HEAVY METAL with functionally guided Thrash Metal attacks.

The conceptual work CIVITAS INTERITUS dances courageously out of line. The formation shows its abilities with these lively debut album on an audibly more mature and stable level. And the completely unpredictable mixture of the quintet is not only full of agile surprises, but INFINITAS also make the whole thing appear as from a single cast! The fact that various memories of the British Folk Metal pioneers Skyclad gets awakened, serves descriptive above all as a useful genre guide. Officially CIVITAS INTERITUS was published on May 5th, 2017.

The striking, concise and extremely powerful voice of frontwoman Andrea sings the compositions with all dedication. And, with her solid vocal repertoire, she also shows itself extremely changeable and multifaceted. The complex arranged, elaborate staged interplay of guitar, violin, bass and drums cooperates in an ingenious way. By means of equally present strings, the Swiss give their songs a charming and finely decorating folklore color. Laura brings with her e-recorder additional, playful-dreaming nuances.
Furia Music Press / Shadowside releases digital version of new album 'Shades of Humanity'
Posted by: Denis / 17.10.2017
Brazilian female fronted Metal band Shadowside has released worldwide their new album Shades of Humanity on all digital outlets.

The album is now available on platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, iTunes and was already released in CD in Europe, by EMP Label Group (owned by Megadeth bassist David Ellefson), in Japan by Spiritual Beast, followed by a BURRN! magazine interview with lead singer Dani Nolden, and in Brazil by Furia Music Records/Die Hard Records.

Shades of Humanity explores deep subjects such as depression, abortion, the Mariana dam disaster in Brazil and mankind's moral values, branching out in musical ways nobody expected while still keeping their heavy guitar riffs and catchy melodies. The album was produced and mixed by Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, Hammerfall, Evergrey, In Flames, Dream Evil) and Henrik Udd (Architects, Dimmu Borgir, Dream Evil, Arch Enemy, Bring me the Horizon) in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Furia Music Press / American band The Element prepares their second album with production of Jens Bogren
Posted by: Denis / 17.10.2017
THE ELEMENT is a Prog Metal band based in California (USA) which started activities in Brazil with their guitarist and frontman Rafael Macedo in 1998.

The band had a very promising career start, when they were pointed as one of the greatest highlights of the south of Brazil and got to support BLIND GUARDIAN and GRAVE DIGGER at the renowned Bar Opinião in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

With the great acceptance of the band by the American audience, the band decided to relocate in 2007 to move forward in their career. RAFAEL MACEDO (Guitar/Vocals) joined bassist MITCH STEWART (CIRCLE II CIRCLE) and THE ELEMENT found its definitive lineup with drummer MARCO BICCA and keyboardist JEREMY VILLUCCI.

With the band's lineup established, they recorded their debut album FROM SAND – PART I, produced by Rafael Macedo and mixed/mastered by legendary producer BEAU HILL (Ratt, Warrant, Alice Cooper, Europe, Gary Moore, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Winger).

FROM SAND – PART I was released worldwide in 2012 and distributed by Hellion Records, Laser's Edge, and Voice Music.

The band released in 2013 a music video for the powerful and intense song called SHE’S MADE FROM SAND with the production of talented director TOMMY MERRY.

Promotion of the debut album was compelling, with the band touring California presenting their intricate Prog Metal. One of the most special moments of the tour was the performance alongside legendary former Megadeth guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN at WHISKY A GO GO.

In 2015, THE ELEMENT started working on their second album, FROM SAND – PART II and this time the band will count with the production and mixing of one of the greatest Heavy Metal producers nowadays: Swedish producer JENS BOGREN, who worked with bands such as Arch Enemy, Symphony X, Angra, Pain of Salvation, Katatonia, Dragonforce, Paradise Lost, James Labrie, Devin Townshend. In charge of mastering was TONY LINDGREN, both from FASCINATION STREET STUDIOS.

FROM SAND – PART II shows the band's natural evolution with heavier, more straightforward, and more aggressive songs, while keeping their main features, such as sophisticated instrumental segments and orchestrations.

The first single will be the song DUSK, which will also be a video, once again directed by Tommy Merry.

Soon the release dates for the single and album will be announced. Now, THE ELEMENT is getting ready for the release concert and new album tour.
Imperative PR / Smothered Bowels - Dead C*nt Dance (Russian Goregrind on Bizarre Leprous Productions)
Posted by: Denis / 17.10.2017
Welcome, my friends, to the show that never ends! A cabaret of the bizarre and demented! A carnival of sickness, a circus of freaks! Welcome to the Dead Cunt Dance... take a seat amongst the filth and let Smothered Bowels take you on a journey through blood, faeces and intestines to the far, dark side of madness. You'll laugh 'til something ruptures and you bleed out on the floor...

Smothered Bowels came crawling out of the Moscow suburbs in 2010, with the Traho Defunctus EP gripped in their grimy hands and since then have vomited their wildly unhinged, technicolor goregrind in every direction. Their only full length album release was 2014s Thorax Driller – until now. Now we present to you the twenty six tracks of utter lunacy that make up the gratuitously offensive Dead Cunt Dance. The band have delved into the absolute depths of their sewer-like minds, pushed their musical dexterity and inventiveness to the maximum, to create some of the most exhilarating, repugnant, exciting and horrifying sounds you will ever hear. This is truly extreme music, taking everything beyond the accepted limits. Madness knows no boundaries...

The release of Dead Cunt Dance will be preceded by the stunning music video for one of the album's finest tracks – U.S. Butcher. This video has been literally years in the making and you will never have seen anything like it before – a mini-feature film in its own right, this is the kind of visual horror show that every Death Metal or Goregrind band dreams of making. Not even the biggest and most successful names in the genre have come close to anything of this quality. When these Russian lunatics decided to bring their psychotic visions to cinematic life only perfection would do and U.S. Butcher is a blood-drenched nightmare you will never forget.

Smothered Bowels are most definitely not for everyone, but if beneath that smiling facade you wear every day lurks the soul of a cackling, caged lunatic... then they might just be for you.

Imperative PR / De Profundis step 'Beyond The Threshold', new video premieres
Posted by: Denis / 09.10.2017
Imperative PR have the pleasure of announcing a brilliant new video from De Profundis, for their classic track Beyond The Threshold, which shows the band at their twisted and technical best. Beyond The Threshold originally appeared on the album Kingdom Of The Blind, but has been especially remastered for this video presentation by Tom Sullivan, the man responsible for the powerful remastering work on De Profundis' recent career retrospective album, Decayed: 2007 – 2017.

The sonically enhanced Beyond The Threshold is accompanied by professionally filmed footage of the band performing the track at London's Tufnell Park Dome and the combined sounds and images make for a magnificent representation of one of the heaviest and most inventive Death Metal bands on the scene.

Don't forget you'll soon be able to catch De Profundis in the flesh as they return to their birth place, the Camden Unicorn, for a special 10th Anniversary show on October 21st, where they'll be supported by Meat Train and Atvm.

METALMESSAGE / MYRKGRAV (Folk Metal) album 'Takk Og Farvel; Tida Er Blitt Ei Annen' official digital download release
Posted by: Denis / 05.10.2017
Since September 28th 2017, Takk Og Farvel; Tida Er Blitt Ei Annen is also available as a digital download edition at MYRKGRAV's Bandcamp page.

This version is based on the 24 bit FDR master data of the album and can be downloaded in various formats. The whole thing comes with the album artwork, which enjoys the eyes with a resolution of 300 dpi. Online FDR download with full resolution cover art at Bandcamp has been started as Digital Release on October 26th, 2016.

Physical format CD and limited edition CD in collaboration with Pest Productions and METALMESSAGE Global PR was officially released on September 21st, 2017.

The goal of MYRKGRAV has always been to create a natural fusion between Scandinavian Folk music and extreme Metal. Whilst perhaps being an overly ambitious goal, Takk Og Farvel; Tida Er Blitt Ei Annen further strengthens the Folk music elements of MYRKGRAV, without negating its extreme Metal roots.

One of the most important elements towards achieving a proper Folk and Metal blend was to incorporate traditional instruments into the songwriting process and giving them key roles in the compositions – rather than just to use them as a gimmick, which many so-called Folk Metal bands unfortunately suffer from.

From ANUBIS GATE: "Hi everybody! While we are working on our next full scale video our label had this lyric video made, it's called Black and it is from our new album Covered In Black, we hope you enjoy it... we love you all in these dark days!"

Watch the Black lyric video! Video creation by Wayne Joyner.

"With six highly acclaimed albums, what can be said about a seventh album? It would be easy to say the following: It is our most mature album. Or how about this: We built on everything that came before it and added new twists and turns. Or this is our most accessible album perhaps.

But that wouldn't be quite true. In fact it might even be quite untrue. Except for the part about building on past experiences, since everybody does that.

What would have been mature was to make an album resembling our previous album Horizons, going with the beautiful feel-good vibe of that album (though its topics were not all that feel-good).

Instead, the writing of this album simply did not go in that direction. While Covered In Black is a highly melodic affair, it is also challenging in a way none of our previous albums are. Dealing with, and dedicated to, people in dark places, this albums has a darker and more complex edge to it. Allowing ourselves to dig deeper into our collective pool of musical experiences and knowledge, the inspirations come from far across the spectrum. Ranging from classical chamber music, seventies Prog and extending to Thrash, with very eastern influences popping up,this is an album that is best heard as one piece, even if the individual tracks can stand on their own. Since we've come this far we also allowed ourselves that freedom.

Is it a concept album? No. But it is a theme album. About people in dark places. From psychopaths, assassins to the more modern topics of being at the receiving end of what is bad about social media. Topics of lifelong failure and revenge are touched upon. The ten-song-long album has two suites, both consisting of three songs. One has the songs spread here and there on the album, while the other is connected as one long piece if you wish to listen to it that way. Wonderfully old-fashioned and just the way we like it. And it is, we feel, simply the best album we've ever done.

The album is produced by Kim Olesen and Jacob Hansen as per good tradition."
Imperative PR / Forged In Black (UK Heavy Metal) rage against the war machine with new video, 'Pay The Price'
Posted by: Denis / 05.10.2017
The new video accompanies the song Pay The Price, taken from the band's latest and greatest release, the superb, Chris Tsangarides produced Sinner Sanctorum. It's a powerful track; full of the band's customary muscular riffing, intricate leads and soaring vocals and lyrically it carries a forceful anti-war message.

The video was created by Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art, known for his work with US Thrash legends Flotsam And Jetsam and UK Death Metal titans De Profundis and it's a remarkable, engaging visual feast. The images combine the terrifying destructive power of modern warfare with a poignant reminder of the loss and personal cost that war always entails. The leaders of our nations are called to account, because while they spout their inflammatory rhetoric it is we who are left to Pay The Price!

Forged In Black are the epitome of great Heavy Metal. With a heart of steel always at the core of everything they do, they reach out and draw in everything that's great from across the Metal map. Their unique take on the glorious Metal art has never been more apparent than on the Sinner Sanctorum EP and Pay The Price is one of the standout tracks from that headbanging masterpiece.
METALMESSAGE / INCURSED • EP "The Slavic Covenant“ + Album "Amalur"
Posted by: Denis / 05.10.2017
In 2014 they delighted the fans of melodic emphasized EPIC VIKING METAL with their acclaimed album Elderslied.

Now the Basque masters INCURSED return with a remarkably fine EP and a nutritious album, whereby the typical style of the playful band can be optimally represented. Officially, The Slavic Covenant was released on July 31, 2017.

This EP serves as a harbinger for the new studio album Amalur, which was funded by the band with a crowdfunding campaign. The official release of Amalur was on September 25th.

The five mercurial compositions on The Slavic Covenant, including the equally surprising and original done A-ha cover of the chartbreaker Take On Me, show a completely unused and persistently hungry formation. INCURSED also free up massive energy spills in 2017!

For the song Fear A' Bhata, INCURSED adapted the musical basic theme of a Gaelic folkloric song from the late 18th century. The refrain is presented in original language. The modified band logo - in Cyrillic spelling - on The Slavic Covenant is a courageous tribute of the crafty Basque bunch to a Ukraine tour, which has been remembered as a wonderful experience.

Nuclear Blast / ALMANAC release first single + video
Posted by: Denis / 02.10.2017
ALMANAC - the new band of Victor Smolski (ex-RAGE) - recently announced the release date of their sophomore record titled Kingslayer, which is scheduled for a November 24th, 2017 release via Nuclear Blast. To bridge the gap between now and the release, ALMANAC have launched the first single off their new album entitled Losing My Mind!

ALMANAC mastermind Victor Smolski comments: "This song is a new chapter for ALMANAC. It's a mixture of different vocal styles, heavy and groovy drop tuning guitar riffs and orchestra power with catchy melodies! It was a lot of fun to try new things when producing the new songs and it was worth it!"

Victor spoke about the video: "When we discussed filming our new music video Losing My Mind on some Moravian castle, I had no idea that we would have the entire currently renovated area of a huge baroque mansion, including its unique French-style park at our disposal. For each group, the stage size is important, and here I was standing really stunned. We could choose any of the dozens of rooms and adjust it according to our needs. We started filming early in the morning and ended long after midnight. But the result is more a short film than a music video. All thanks to the truly amazing film location – Holesov chateau."

Screenwriter and director Marek Dobes says: "It is always good to know the members of the band as well as possible before shooting. I have been working with Victor since he collaborated with RAGE. We shot together the clip for 21 which installed them back to the first music video league. Later I was in charge of presenting ALMANAC in a short promotional documentary made during one of their first international concerts. at which time I had the opportunity to get acquainted with the other members of the group. Even then, I realised they were personalities I can show in a music video not only as a musicians but also as actors, which is not as common as you would think. A dramatic role cannot be played by everyone. And whenever you build a story around the members of a group, you take a risk. But I'm glad I decided to do it, all four members of ALMANAC were born for the camera and film lights."

Pavel Plch who plays the lead role of deceived husband, who also choreographed the fight scenes, said: "In the past, I've had the opportunity to collaborate on video clips such as NIGHTWISH - Sleeping Sun, and I've fully exploited my previous experiences for the ALMANAC music video. I was surprised by the fact that the cameraman decided to record the duel scene with a distortion lens, which we had to adapt to the whole concept of a duel. The result, however, is worth the work. For me this ALMANAC music video belongs within the top ten projects that I could ever help on as a choreographer. Maybe even in the top five due to the fact that only one single sword broke in my hand, despite all the increased fighting efforts in the battle scene."

New AXEMASTER album 'Crawling Chaos' release date
Posted by: Denis / 29.09.2017
Pure Steel Records has issued an official release date for the new Axemaster album Crawling Chaos. The CD will officially be available through the label on NOVEMBER 24th. Those of you in the US will be able to easily remember the date because this year, the 24th is Black Friday!

Crawling Chaos combines major label quality sound, killer artwork & graphics, and material that early reviews describe as some of the best Axemaster ever. While retaining a portion of the Thrash feel of Overture to Madness, the new songs show the band's evolution with a feel that goes back to their roots from the late 80's & early 90's. In that spirit, Crawling Chaos includes a new version of the classic Axemaster song from 1988: Death Before Dishonor. Pre-orders for the disc will begin on November 10th through the Pure Steel website.

The new CD features the return of vocalist Geoff McGraw, lead guitarist Joe Sims, and bassist Jim Curtis; and is the Axemaster recording debut of lead guitarist Damin Bennett (making this the first time the band has had a dual axe attack), and drummer Denny Archer. Each musician has extensive experience in music and is a true professional, which is very evident and on full display on the new album!

While Crawling Chaos shows the band's present and future, the 'autumn of Axemaster' begins with a celebration of the band's past on October 6th with the re-release of 19 of the band's songs from 1986-1991 on a vinyl 2 record set, titled Blessing the the Skies (and other cuts from the chamber). It's a limited edition collectable (only 200 pressed); pre-ordering begins on Sept. 22nd through the Pure Steel website.
    Crawling Chaos tracklist:

PHARAOH hard at work on fifth full-length album
Posted by: Denis / 29.09.2017
Melodic Metal veterans PHARAOH – featuring vocalist Tim Aymar, guitarist Matt Johnsen, bassist Chris Kerns and drummer Chris Black – are currently hard at work on their fifth full-length album, which is tentatively due in mid-2018 via Italy's Cruz Del Sur Music. The album will be the band's first 2012's Bury The Light.

Comments Johnsen: "We're doing this one a bit differently, in that before we always completed the full complement of songs and then hit the studio, but this time, we're recording tunes a couple at a time as we finish writing. Because we're not a rehearsing band and because we all live in different cities, recording as we write makes it possible to get more done in less time; while Chris Black is tracking drums for one song, I can be tracking guitars for any songs he's already recorded, and then when I'm ready to move onto the next set of rhythm guitars, Tim can start tracking vocals. We're still early in the process, though; Chris only just started tracking the first tune.
We have four songs completed as far as instrumentation goes, and three more at about seventy-five percent. Then there are three to five more which are no more than fifty percent finished. In the past, the riffs to most songs were more or less written by one guy, and then fleshed out collaboratively with vocals and lyrics at the end, but this time, the majority of songs have been put together from the beginning with riff contributions from two or more members, and we expect to do more tinkering with the riffs than we usually do once the vocal lines are introduced. Then again, maybe we won't!"

Johnsen promises PHARAOH's forthcoming new LP will continue in the same vein of their previous efforts; however, some new wrinkles are being thrown into the mix, namely from the technical Thrash world with bands such as CORONER, HOLY TERROR, REALM, FORBIDDEN serving as inspiration.

"My arrangements involve much less repetition of riffs than is customary from a power metal band", he says. "Lots of 'one-and-done' riffs, and a lot of left-field bridges and codas. At the same time, I've also started a couple tunes which are almost Doom Metal, assuming a definition of Doom Metal that encompasses MEMENTO MORI and early TYR. We'll see how those pan out, but I expect at least one of them to make the album."

Posted by: Denis / 29.09.2017
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to welcome legendary U.S. metallers Warlord to the family for the release of a new studio album in 2018!

Long admirers of the band and having gotten to know drummer Mark Zonder through his work with Graham Bonnet Band and the upcoming group, Spirits Of Fire, (which also features Tim Ripper Owens 'Official Page' (Charred Walls Of The Damned, ex Iced Earth, Judas Priest), Chris Caffery (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), and Steve Di Giorgio (Death (Official), Testament, Sadus)), Frontiers approached Zonder about the prospect of doing a new Warlord album for release in 2018. Luckily for the label, Zonder and co-founder/guitarist William J. Tsamis were very much open to the idea. Says Zonder, "(A)fter all of these years, Warlord is with a 'real label'. It will be great to have Warlord music shared with a worldwide audience, which is something that has been missing for many years. With my prior working experiences with Frontiers, I know Warlord is in the right place and I am very appreciative of this great opportunity. We thank everyone at the label for their belief in Warlord!"

In September 2013, Tsamis and Zonder announced that they had tapped vocalist Nicholas Leptos of Arrayan Path and Astronomikon to be the new Warlord singer. This line-up, along with bassist Bynoe will be the line-up for the upcoming new album. Adds Zonder, "This Warlord release will be like all of the previous ones, 100% Warlord. No changing of direction to keep up with the current fad, just good ol' school Warlord music. Maybe leaning back a touch to the early days and we promise a high energy album that features the classic Bill Tsamis compositions and his classic guitar melody lines. As I always try to do, I'll give it my all in tandem with my favorite bass player Philip Bynoe, working together to create a solid foundation. This will be the first studio recording with Nicholas Leptos on vocals. We have performed live with him several times and are eagerly awaiting to capture his dynamic performances on tape. A classic Warlord album in the making..."

Nuclear Blast / ENSLAVED about the album artwork
Posted by: Denis / 29.09.2017
On October 13th, Black avantgarde Norwegians ENSLAVED will unleash their 14th album E taking the band to fresh and more progressive shores. After discussing the recording process, new keyboard player and album title in the previous trailers, singer and bassist Grutle Kjellson now explains the concept behind the cover artwork. Designed again by long-time collaborator, Truls Espedal, the album artwork was hand painted on canvas – watch as Grutle explains how he discovered the artist that ENSLAVED have been working with since Monumension.

Grutle remembers: "17 or 18 years ago I lived in Stavanger and was introduced to Truls at a pub on a late Saturday evening. We started to discuss album covers from bands like YES or GENESIS and I remember we were both drunk and seemed to disagree a lot on the definition of a cool album cover. So I said to him 'If you're so clever, why don't you paint the next ENSLAVED cover' and he said 'Yeah, count me in' - so I did!"

Som do Darma / Heavier and mature, Broken Jazz Society presents new album, 'Rubber Talk'
Posted by: Denis / 25.09.2017
Broken Jazz Society was formed in 2013 in Uberaba, Minas Gerais state, and is currently formed by Mateus Graffunder (guitar/vocal), João Fernandes (bass) and Felipe Araújo (drums).

The band's debut album, Tales From Purple Land, was released in 2014. The three tracks EP Gas Station was the successor and got great reviews on Brazilian specialized press.

Very satisfied with the reception for Gas Station, early this year Broken Jazz Society travelled to Goiânia city where started the recordings for its new album at Rock Lab studio together with the producer Gustavo Vazquez (Hellbenders, Black Drawing Chalks, Uganga, Canábicos). Band and producer had already worked together on Gas Station.

Seven months later, the trio delivers Rubber Talk, it's new work, the second studio effort.

With a heavier and mature sonority, Rubber Talk keeps the stoner rock climbing to a subjective context, as if the group had found and liked it's own identity (whatever it may be). The opening track, Mongrel Cat, that had already been released as single, underlines the identity bias of the album: 'Accept Yourself', the chorus says.

Rubber Talk brings nine tracks. Besides Mongrel Cat, are also in the album Night's Breeze, Sax Girl, Pretty High On The 70's Sky, A Brilliant Fine, Melted, I Feel Like A Viking, Grisly Gaze and the intro Granny Smith's Apple.

Despite the discretion on intentions, it's a fact that Broken Jazz Society presents such great evolution that there isn't space for false modesty. Rubber Talk brings elasticity to the power trio's rock that now adds since acoustic guitar and percussion sounds to the electronic timbres of the synthesizers.

"Rubber Talk is a visceral work because its more conceptually committed, more ambitious in terms of production, so it is more sensible of what the band long for", declares the drummer Felipe Araújo. "In musical terms, the album shows a bigger maturation as a band in relation to the previous, in all aspects. The stoner rock approach is still there, the timbres are more cohesives and everybody evoluted technically during all this process."

The bassist João Fernandes highlights the musical unity of the trio as the determinant factor for this technical and creative evolution of Rubber Talk. "When Felipe joined the band Gas Station was already recorded. This time we had time to seek the entanglement of this line-up that got together Felipe's experience brought from outside - he was already an experienced drummer - to the experience that me and Matheus had already go until that point."
Imperative PR / Meat Train unveil powerful new video Block 11 - an unflinching reminder of mankind's darkest hour
Posted by: Denis / 25.09.2017
Imperative PR are proud to unveil the new video from Death Metal juggernaut Meat Train - Block 11. Meat Train have never been afraid to tackle difficult subjects in their music, to say what needs to be said in no uncertain terms. Some things are too important to be kept hidden in the shadows for fear of offending, or of being misunderstood. The horrors committed in the name of the German Third Reich during World War II cannot and must not ever be forgotten. As we wander carelessly into a time where Nazi salutes are insidiously seeping their way into public protests and the term 'Nazi' itself is bandied about with worrying flippancy, Meat Train are here with a stark, brutal reminder of just what the Nazis really stood for.

The song Block 11 was written by Meat Train front man Mike Pearson after visiting Auschwitz concentration camp - an experience that left a permanent scar on his soul.

"I wrote Block 11 after visiting one of the most awful places on earth. Why did I go there? My father lost his father as a consequence of that war, fighting against a regime that was so disgusting and evil. I felt I owed something to all those who were murdered. I took my father there too. I have never been to a place so dark and chilling in my life and I whilst I have visited the killing fields of Cambodia I never want to go to another place where millions of innocent people were murdered. These places are, however, an important part of history and will serve as reminders of the evil in the world and the importance that we must never let them happen again. It touched me so deeply I walked around it and tears fell freely. I can't say I felt the pain and torture that so many innocent people were subjected to; that would be a great disrespect to them. What I can say is I felt so much anger that it had happened. I never want that to ever happen again, whether it be to one person or a million. The only way I thought I could share my anger was to write about it. To put it out into the world again, from someone of my generation, in the hope that people would never forget that truly awful and murderous regime that was founded on hate... but most importantly, that people would never allow that to happen again. It's not meant to glorify but to be a reminder that we as a race, the human race can never allow anything like that to happen ever again."

The video for Block 11 was created by Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art (Flotsam And Jetsam, De Profundis, etc) and it makes for uncomfortable, yet compelling viewing. It pulls no punches as it seeks to drive the message home - never, ever forget.

Block 11 is taken from the new Meat Train album, Random Acts Of Carnage, which will be released through Contagion Records on September 29th.
Imperative PR / De Profundis and Meat Train hit London for a free entry show of celebration and bloody rebirth
Posted by: Denis / 25.09.2017
Throughout 2017 De Profundis have been celebrating ten years as a recording band, a decade since the release of their first album, Beyond Redemption. The celebrations began with a UK tour with Taake and Fen, followed by a full European jaunt alongside David Vincent's I Am Morbid, gore Metal legends Necrophagia, Helsott and openers The Heretic Order. Next was the release of Decayed: 2007 – 2017, a career retrospective collection featuring a brand new track, An Orgy Of Grotesqueries, that was given away free with 10,000 copies of Zero Tolerance Magazine. Now, they bring down the curtain on their anniversary celebrations with a special gig, back at the venue where the whole De Profundis story began...

On October 21st De Profundis return to The Unicorn in Camden, London where they played their first ever gig. Playing the Unicorn not only gives the perfect historical balance to this conclusion of De Profundis' 10th anniversary year, it also allows them to make the night a free entry show, so as many fans as possible will be able to share in the celebrations. The band will be drawing heavily on the Decayed album for their set list and for some of the older songs this may be the last time they are ever performed, as De Profundis prepare for the next chapter in their career with the 2018 release of their fifth album.

Joining De Profundis will be fellow Imperative PR band, Meat Train who will be officially launching their monstrous new album, Random Acts Of Carnage, which will be unleashed by Contagion Records on September 29th. Meat Train are seasoned live performers who have left a trail of blood and destruction across territories as far flung as Thailand, The Philippines and Vietnam, even headlining the prestigious Nepal Deathfest in Kathmandu and decimating the audience with a performance no attendee will ever forget.

Making the night complete will be an opening performance from exciting Death Metal prospect ATVM.

Imperative PR / Frozen Ocean - Transience
Posted by: Denis / 21.09.2017
Dark ambient, Black Metal and post Rock combine under the watchful gaze of Vaarwel of Russia's Frozen Ocean.

Vaarwel, the creative enigma behind Frozen Ocean, has decided to fling wide the gates of his kingdom and invite everyone to explore, to discover, to immerse themselves in his world...

The Frozen Ocean back catalogue can seem a vast and complex place, difficult to navigate for the uninitiated, but now Vaarwel has produced a guide to these seemingly forbidding territories, a traveller's almanac that reveals the breathtaking order within the daunting chaos. Transience gives form and shape to the maelstrom and shines a light on the pathways through the dark. The three kingdoms within the Frozen Ocean world are revealed – the Aether, the Tether and the Nether; each one formed from the substance of a different musical style; from dark ambient, from a post-rock wasteland that lies between ambient and metal and from atmospheric, blackened Metal. Vaarwel has chosen songs from each kingdom and bound them together, fresh and remastered.and is here to guide you through his creations. Hear his words...

"Projects with an enormous and varied discography are very difficult to perceive, even at a subliminal level. I could imagine that from the listener's point of view, thus I prepared this for all of you who would like to attune with Frozen Ocean but didn't know where to start. Transience itself is an inherent part of the Frozen Ocean artistic method, so it is completely representative within the choice of songs, including the previously unpublished ones. Transience is a piece of different, good music combined into one block, but moreover it is a safe and convenient passage through Frozen Ocean's meandering discography. Welcome, and follow me..."

Vaarwel is offering this beautiful, expansive guide to the world of Frozen Ocean as a gift to those with the desire to discover, asking nothing in return. This is his way of opening the gates to all who would explore the ice shrouded sounds of his imagination. Along with fifteen remastered tracks, three previously unreleased, representing the best of Frozen Ocean's incredible canon of work, the download pack includes breathtaking new cover art, created by Vaarwel himself, a selection of Frozen Ocean flyers, an original poem by Vaarwel that explores the thoughts behind Transience and a set of wallpapers for the stunning A Perfect Solitude album.

There has never been a better opportunity to discover the wonderful breadth, depth and diversity of Frozen Ocean. Step through the gateway and let Vaarwel be your guide...

Details of some of the prizes have just been revealed and there is some great stuff up for grabs, including a signed CD and drum skin from Motörhead man Phil Campbell and a signed CD from Frank Turner. However two of the biggest prizes on offer are an amplifier, donated by Davis Amplification and a custom Jack Daniels Peavy guitar, donated by Jack Daniels. Jack Daniels and Davis Amplification are both official sponsors of the Fire And Forge Festival. Alasdair Davis of Davis Amplification spoke to Imperative PR about his firm's involvement with the festival...

"When Doug (-Harvey, festival organiser) approached me for help I of course said yes. I've worked closely with Doug when playing in Fury and it's his belief in this project that makes us want to help him. There is a great selection of bands playing and we look forward to seeing as many of them play as possible. We hope the amplifier we've included as a prize makes a difference."

Alasdair isn't the only person to have been voicing his support for Fire And Forge, with co-headliner Blaze Bayley also getting in touch to share a few words about the upcoming event...

"The final show of my Endure and Survive world tour is the Fire &Forge festival. It's very exciting to end my tour at such a great event so close to my home. Also the charity side of this event is important to me, because my late father suffered from diabetes. Very proud to be a part of this event. Me and my band will be on fire for this."

The Fire And Forge organisation have also announced a special pre-festival warm-up show, which will be held at the Readipop in Reading on September 30th. From the late-'90s to the mid-2000s, highly respected workhorse guitarist Ralph Santolla (Iced Earth, Deicide, Obituary, etc.) was the driving force behind four tremendous Hard Rock albums from his own band, MILLENIUM. Originally released in 2000 by Now & Then/Frontiers Records, the group's third and arguably most ambitious effort — the Progressive, Metal-tinged, epic Rock of Hourglass — was its only to include the wildly impressive talents of Norwegian frontman Jørn Lande (Jorn, Vagabond, Masterplan, etc.); not to mention keyboard contributions from Dag Stokke (TNT, Vagabond, etc.) and the legendary Don Airey (Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne, Deep Purple, etc.).

Largely due to the spark of musical chemistry between Santolla and Lande who instantly bonded over a shared love of similar music Hourglass was the result of more collaborative writing sessions for the group. Recorded over the course of three months at studios as spread out as Manchester, England; Bøverbru, Norway (Studio Studio Nyhagen); Tampa, FL (Morrisound Recording); as well as the band members' own homes; MILLENIUM additionally laid down several cover tunes by the likes of MSG, Rainbow, Sweet, Jefferson Starship only released as Japanese bonus tracks or years later amidst The Best of... and More collection.

Predominantly well-received in Europe and Asia, limited shows supporting the release of Hourglass followed locally in MILLENIUM's home base of Florida; at the Gods of AOR festival in Wigan, England; and throughout a three-show tour of Spain with Ten and Elyte. At a certain point, however, Jørn increasingly busy with other projects—amicably parted ways with the group, leading to the eventual return of their former vocalist, Todd Plant, and drawing this portion of the MILLENIUM timeline to a close.

17 years later, Divebomb Records is honored to bring this stunning segment of the MILLENIUM discography back to the fore with Hourglass: The Complete Sessions. This 16-track collection finds the 10-song album and six bonus cuts from the era compiled onto a single 76-minute CD for the first time. All of which is housed alongside an extensive 20+ page booklet featuring updated cover art, photographs, lyrics, and a memory-fueled interview with Ralph Santolla, conducted by Shawn Pelata.

AFM Records / COMMUNIC first single from upcoming album available
Posted by: Denis / 18.09.2017
Many of you were anticipating the new Communic official single, their first recording since The Bottom Deep (2011). Enjoy Where Echoes Gather, Pt. 1 - Beneath The Giant now!

"This is the first single we release from the album, Where Echoes Gather. This is the title track and on the album and it is split up into two parts, but I like to think of the song as a whole, but for now we only will show you part 1. Part 2 will be added soon. When you listen to the album there will be no gap or pause between as it will flow as one long song.
Part 1: Beneath The Giant
The topic of the song was inspired by a visit to an Eastern Europe City some years ago. In this city, a giant of a city, the stressful hectic life, people off to work, blindly following as sheep, while in the underground sewers and pipes there was a communion of orphan children, and youngsters, living in the absence of 'street' awareness, sniffing glue to escape from reality. At night they come out, treading the shadows of the streets, looking for the next fix. We fail to lift the head away from our own 'problems' neglecting what's going on around us. With a government and media system that also fails to fix the problem, more interested in social likes or in telling the truth!. So this is where I got the inspiration to this song. Some of these children where in the same age as my own children, who I as a parent want to grow up in a safe home environment with friends and family who cares, made me even closer to the brutality, and made me see the harsh reality of life with different eyes."

InsideOut Music / Caligula’s Horse 'Songs for No One' video launched
Posted by: Denis / 18.09.2017
Caligula's Horse, a band at the forefront of Australia's Progressive Rock scene, release their much-anticipated new album In Contact. To celebrate the album's release, the band have launched a stunning new video for recent single Songs for No One.

Guitarist and director of photography/editor Adrian Goleby comments: "Songs for No One is by far the most complex and ambitious music video I've attempted for Caligula's Horse - and also for myself. I've worked alongside all of the guys for years now and the creative trust involved is what pushes all of us to find and conquer the next bastion of artistic development. We're also at a stage where we can come in and make these sorts of videos with confidence in making something distinct and memorable, as well as exciting for any audience.
Working with (director) Daniel Grey was also a treat for me. His ability to turn a metaphor into a story is remarkable in its own right. He definitely brought his best to the table, (and then flipped it).
I hope everyone that watches this is able to connect with the joy that we bring into Caligula's Horse, as well as the heart thumping excitement that I can't help but feel when I play it."

The video was directed by Daniel Grey and he comments: "Songs For No One is about embracing quiet passions; overcoming fear, depression and self destructive thoughts through the mindful cultivation of small things. The video speaks to those themes, and shows that any creative endeavour - even one only for yourself - is enough to keep the world turning."

Napalm Records / EVIL INVADERS music video premiere for 'As Life Slowly Fades'
Posted by: Denis / 18.09.2017
Belgium's technical Thrash/Speed Metal young bloods EVIL INVADERS are proud to release a brand new video clip for As Life Slowly Fades, off their upcoming album Feed Me Violence. This new extreme Metal opus will be released on September 29th via Napalm Records worldwide!

The band commented on the song: "As Life Slowly Fades is a fast, crushing tune that takes you on an emotional trip through the dark side of the mind. It is a story about the inner battle against the ongoing decay of emotions and the test of mental strength!
This track goes from fast-paced Thrash to a very cool mid-tempo pace, which reminds of Painkiller and there's even some Death influences here and there. The song goes up and down and has some very cool tempo changes.
There's a constant evil vibe, like a line going on throughout the song, which seems to disappear during the middle as the solo kicks in, but at the end it comes back like a sledgehammer smashing your face!"

Nuclear Blast / DESTRUCTION to release 'Thrash Anthems II' on November 10th
Posted by: Denis / 18.09.2017
German Thrash legends DESTRUCTION will release their new 'Best of Old School' album Thrash Anthems II on November 10th via Nuclear Blast Records.

In 2007, DESTRUCTION proved how successful re-recording some of their timeless classics and reimagining history could be. The follow-up to 2007's Thrash Anthems is ready to rock the Metal world and shows how fans can be part of both a band's history and future. For Thrash Anthems II, DESTRUCTION called upon on their loyal fans through PledgeMusic to help them create the record and contribute to the band's epic history.

Mastermind Schmier states: "As it is a part of our past to relaunch classic songs from our history with a fresh face and we had many demands on a Thrash Anthems continuation, we decided to do a second part of this re-animation of classic 80s DESTRUCTION material. For us it was important to chose the tracks with the fans and first when NB did not wanna do the album we decided to do a pledge campaign to raise the fonds for the production together with the die hards.
To make a long story short, we know not everybody will like these new versions of those thrash evergreens (just listen to the originals then) but it was an important task for us to keep them alive for a whole new generation of metalheads that love those fresh and brutal new recordings. We are very happy now, that our label is finally releasing this collection of thrash classics. The vibe on this record is so vicious, uncommercial and has this 80s feeling with a even more aggressive edge and THAT is was made our THRASH so special, in the good old days and now!"

  1. Confused Mind
  2. Black Mass
  3. Frontbeast

Imperative PR / Nihil Eyes unleash the relentless death metal assault of Black Path
Posted by: Denis / 15.09.2017
Death Metal war machine Nihil Eyes are joining Imperative PR for the promotion of their stunning debut album, Black Path. The Nihil Eyes line-up was only completed earlier this year, but the band have delivered an opening salvo of breathtaking power and potency, marrying dark atmosphere with unstoppable drive and force.

Following in the battle-hardened footsteps of their forbears, war torn legends like Bolt Thrower, Carcass, Nihil Eyes are here to show the world that British Death Metal can still go toe-to-toe with the world's elite; that the birth place of Metal still possesses the firepower to compete on every level. Formed in 2016 by lead vocalist/guitarist Casey Jones and drummer Szymon Ogiełło, the duo were joined in early 2017 by bassist Max Morgan. With the crew complete the heavy artillery of Nihil Eyes was ready to roll and progress has been ferociously rapid. Such is the accomplished poise and presence that radiates from these monstrous steel-clad tracks that you'd swear they were the work of veteran campaigners.
Mixed and mastered by the legendary Dan Swanö (Asphyx, Bloodbath, Incantation and too many others to mention) the sound on The Black Path is soul-shaking in its dark power, the drive and force behind the immaculately crafted, armour plated tracks simply fearsome. Lyrically speaking, Casey Jones describes the album as "a series of psychological thought experiments exploring the human condition" and these dark explorations add to a challenging edge to the shadowy atmosphere that hangs over the album like gun smoke.

Grab your weapons and head for the trenches because the Nihil Eyes armoured battalion is heading your way!
  • Casey Jones – Vocals/Guitar
  • Max Morgan - Bass
  • Szymon Ogiello – Drums
Genre: Death Metal
For fans of: Bolt Thrower, Asphyx, Entombed, Paradise Lost

Legendary Swedish singer/songwriter Spice (Spiritual Beggars, Kayser) returns with Shadows Remain, a new album by his very own Band Of Spice, a theme record about a certain period in the singer's life that was dominated by madness. The music is like a bag of different pills. Color, taste and purposes. It's Rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal. And it's Blues, Jazz, Funk and even a bit of bossanova. It's feathers and stones colliding in Spice's universe. The sound of the album is very honest and pure. In Spice's own words: "I believe you will get that if you dare to be naked and true to what you are doing. Not being able to put your trust in what a computer can do for you. I love to work with the space in the room. I love the craftsmanship of trusting your own ears, fingers and mind."
  1. Only One Drink
  2. The Pet
  3. Coherent Train Of Thoughts
  4. Don’t Bring Me Flowers
  5. Caught In A War
  6. They Are Around
  7. Apartment 8
  8. The Saviour And The Clown
  9. Give Me A Hint
  10. Sheaf
  11. The Gap
  12. Take Me Home
  13. Apartment 8 (Part II)
The beautiful, evocative artwork was made by Luca Martinotto, who has already worked with internationally renowned artists such as Ennio Morricone, Nick Oliveri, Mos Generator and many others.

AMORPHIS re-sign to Nuclear Blast & announce special 360o concert experience
Posted by: Denis / 15.09.2017
Melancholic Progressive metallers AMORPHIS recently finished their successful 18-concert Under The Red Cloud summer tour where they played arena shows with Danish rockers VOLBEAT amongst others. But before the Finns close the touring cycle in support of their latest album, there's great news from the band's camp: AMORPHIS have signed another record deal with Nuclear Blast.

Guitarist Esa Holopainen commented: "I'm really happy to announce that AMORPHIS got re-signed to Nuclear Blast! It's nice to be working with such professional and familiar people. AMORPHIS has done a lot of touring for the past two years around the globe and now it's time to head back to the studio. This means that the new album will be released next year! It has also been a really nice experience for all of us to play with Olli-Pekka again and for that reason we're glad to have him participating in the making of the new record."

Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger added: "I'm really proud that we can continue working with AMORPHIS, one of the early NB bands, which went through the roof with Tales From The Thousand Lakes back in 1994. Additionally they became really good friends of ours, which makes this working relationship even cooler. I'm already looking forward to their next album because it's simply impossible for AMORPHIS to deliver a bad record."

To make the last Under The Red Cloud show even more special, the band has come up with a great idea: fans can 'jump on stage' with AMORPHIS at The Circus, Helsinki on September 23rd - as part of a 360? experience! The gig will be streamed live, free of charge, but fans can still donate directly to the band on the streaming page. Nuclear Blast / THRESHOLD Richard West discusses musical influences
Posted by: Denis / 15.09.2017
UK Progressive Metal quintet THRESHOLD released their colossal double concept album Legends Of The Shires last week via Nuclear Blast. The 11th studio album by the band features old / new vocalist Glynn Morgan, who lent his vocals to the band's 1994 release, Psychedelicatessen. In contrast to the more straight-ahead heaviness and traditional structures of 2014's For The Journey, the new album is an admirable exercise in flexing creative muscles and revelling in exploratory flair. In the final trailer covering the new album, Richard West discusses his and the band's musical influences.

Speaking about the band's influences, Richard comments: "I think when we come together as THRESHOLD, we all know what THRESHOLD is. We know it's going to be a combination of Progressive and Metal, with catchy pop elements as well. It's kinda what we've always done."

Metal Blade / RAM announces new album 'Rod'
Posted by: Denis / 15.09.2017
Swedish Heavy metallers RAM will release their striking new album, Rod, on November 3rd via Metal Blade Records! You can watch the lyric video for the first single, Gulag.

RAM comments about Rod: "We are very proud to release our fifth studio album entitled Rod. On this album for the first time ever we wrote a conceptual story over 6 songs, something that we always wanted to do but never got right. This album contains probably our most epic moments to date but it is still definitely Heavy Metal Tyranny!"

Regarding the first single, Gulag, RAM adds: "Gulag has a definite old-school European Heavy Metal vibe to it. The song shines a light on the hypocrisy of collectivism, and takes a stand for the one who lives and thinks for one self, not for ideology or dogmas of the masses. As one can see in the lyric video for the song most members of RAM were raised during the golden age of home computers!"
    Rod track-listing
  1. Declaration of Independence
  2. On Wings of No Return
  3. Gulag
  4. A Throne at Midnight
  5. Ramrod the Destroyer, Pt. 1: Anno Infinitus

In support of the album, DUST BOLT will travel to North America for the first time ever. To warm up for the tour, the band has now unleashed a brand new video for the song Mind The Gap, taken from DUST BOLT's latest release.

Says the band: "We are stoked to present the new video for the song Mind The Gap, shot during a live session at the Rain Age rehearsal rooms in Germany. Raw, DIY and old school as fuck - as you know it. A room, 4 people, 3 amplifier and drums - that´s all you need. After a great summer season in Europe we can´t wait to bring the songs from Mass Confusion and the first two albums finally to the United States together with Obituary, Exodus and Power Trip on the Battle Of The Bays Tour 2017. Come out and catch us live! And if anyone tries to tell you what to do, what to dream of or which way you to go, or even not to go to a Dust Bolt show - don't forget: just Mind The Gap!"

The band will be taking part in the 'Battle of the Bays' Tour, featuring Obituary, Exodus, Power Trip. The tour kicks off September 14th in Durham, NC and runs through October 15th in Baton Rouge, LA.

It's only been six years since Southern Germans DUST BOLT won the W:O:A Metal Battle 2011 - six years the band has used to transform themselves from hot newcomers into national Thrash heroes with their debut Violent Demolition! These Bay Area aficionados dropped their third full length Mass Confusion in July 2016. Relentless touring plus constant fine-tuning of the typical DUST BOLT sound have finally paid off: the old school songwriting is focused and free of ballast weight, yet despite all the rage and aggression there is still plenty of breathing space for melodic guitar work, gang shouts and ten ton grooves.

Nuclear Blast / THRESHOLD release video for 'Stars And Satellites'
Posted by: Denis / 13.09.2017
UK Progressive Metal quintet THRESHOLD just released their colossal double concept album Legends Of The Shires via Nuclear Blast.

To celebrate the release, THRESHOLD have unleashed a lyric video for new track, Stars And Satellites.

. "Welcome to the third single from our new album. It's a catchy little progressive number about finding your place in the world and I hope you enjoy it", says keyboardist Richard West. Karl Groom continues, "I am excited about the release of Legends Of The Shires. It represents a huge achievement for the band and one of the most creative periods we have ever experienced. I hope it connects with those listening and has a lasting impression."

Vocalist Glynn Morgan is thankful for fans accepting him back into the fold and is excited to get out on the road with the guys: "I've always been a fan of the band. I was just a fan, keeping up to date, and I think Karl and Richard's songwriting, they're a great team and it's all good stuff. So when I got the call, how could I say no? A big thank you to all the fans who have welcomed me back. I hope you're loving the new tunes as much as I loved singing them! See you all in the fall on the 'Legends' tour."

Nuclear Blast / BEAST IN BLACK 'Blind And Frozen' video and more album details
Posted by: Denis / 13.09.2017
"You have to be mentally insane to not love this album." Tuomas Holopainen (NIGHTWISH)

International Heavy metallers BEAST IN BLACK recently announced that they have signed a worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Now the band with former BATTLE BEAST guitarist Anton Kabanen presents the first music video from their 10-track debut album titled Berserker, which will be released on November 3rd, 2017! This video is for Blind And Frozen, directed by Ville Lipiäinen (NIGHTWISH etc.).

Anton commented on the track: "Blind And Frozen is a super catchy and massive song. Yannis' interpretation and performance here is nothing short of pure perfection!"

Additionally, BEAST IN BLACK have also unveiled the album's track listing.
  1. Beast In Black
  2. Blind And Frozen
  3. Blood Of A Lion
  4. Born Again
  5. Zodd The Immortal
  6. The Fifth Angel
  7. Crazy, Mad, Insane
  8. Hell For All Eternity (Bonus Track- DIGI only)
  9. Eternal Fire
  10. Go To Hell (Bonus Track- DIGI only)
  11. End Of The World
  12. Ghost In The Rain
Berserker was produced by Anton in his Sound Quest Studio. Its cover artwork marks the return of the collaboration between Anton and Roman Ismailov who was the original illustrator and graphic artist for BATTLE BEAST.

Berserker maintains the style of Anton's previously composed works which include the first three BATTLE BEAST albums. Influenced by 80's Metal bands such as JUDAS PRIEST, MANOWAR, W.A.S.P., BLACK SABBATH, ACCEPT, the record is nothing but a great Heavy Metal album. "It's very straightforward, catchy and powerful and occasionally mixed with some symphonic influences", Anton adds. Lyrically, Kabanen also continues his previous style: "Many songs such as the title track, Beast In Black, and Zodd The Immortal, are strongly influenced by the Japanese manga and anime Berserk."

Frontiers Music / Primal Fear - Best of Fear
Posted by: Denis / 11.09.2017
Frontiers Music Srl are pleased to announce the release of Primal Fear's Best Of Fear on November 10th, 2017! Check out the new song, If Looks Could Kill (a Heart cover).

Best of Fear, as the name implies, is a new best of compilation from German Heavy Metal masters, Primal Fear. This double album culls together the best material from Primal Fear's last 10 years of work (including the albums New Religion, 16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead), Unbreakable, Delivering the Black, Rulebreaker), plus four brand new songs recorded specifically for this release.

Mat Sinner says: "We wanted to come up with something special instead of a regular Best-Of album. We've recorded 4 new songs including a cover of the Heart song If Looks Could Kill and in my view one of the best vocal performances of Ralf Scheepers' career - crushing! We've divided the album into 2 CDs - on CD 1 the new tracks and our most favorite rockers, on CD 2 the epic stuff and the long songs including an exciting artwork by Stan Decker. This is a compilation we're proud of and much more than a collector's item!"

This comprehensive overview of Primal Fear's body of work over the past ten years is aptly split into two records which showcase the magnificence (and constantly maturing) songwriting abilities of these Heavy Metal lifers. The first album encompasses the heavier and more straight ahead material, while the second shows the more involved and epic side of the band's songwriting.

So, whether you're just discovering Primal Fear or you're a long-time fan, this is a really good overview of their music over the past ten years and is not to be missed!

Pure Steel Records / ALLTHENIKO official video 'Waste Of Time' released
Posted by: Denis / 07.09.2017
ALLTHENIKO has released a video for the song Waste Of Time. That song is on the new album Italian History VI, which will be released September 15th, 2017 via PURE STEEL RECORDS.

The Italian band ALLTHENIKO is active since 15 years and a guarantee for true Heavy Metal! On their 6th album the three guys know exactly that only Speed and Power count! True Steel has to be formed when it's hot!

Of course you will find Teutonic influences from the true decade of Thrash, but a very clever stylistic input is the use of two songs sung in Italian! Awesome! The other songs are again for all fans of RAGE and PRIMAL SCREAM! Scream for Metal! Two, three, four, die!

In 1987 four musicians were brought together by the legendary guitarist Ronnie Montrose and their shared manager. Those four were guitarist J K Northrup, lead vocalist Johnny Edwards, bassist Larry Hart and J K's long-time friend and drummer Glenn Hicks. Within two weeks they were rehearsing writing and in the studio recording with Ronnie Montrose, who was producing their first demo. It was immediately evident that there was a lot of electricity with the band! Drawing on such influences as Bad Company, Whitesnake, Humble Pie the band's energy was powerful.

Almost immediately several major labels such as Geffen, Atlantic and MCA were coming to the shows and rehearsals showing great interest in signing the band. John Kalodner himself put the band into the studio to record a further six songs.

Although an agreement was not reached with any of the record labels the band recorded and demoed many songs over two years. They added a fifth member; rhythm guitarist Justin McDaid and continued playing, writing and showcasing until 1989 when they disbanded resulting in Edwards joining Foreigner and J K Northrup joining up with Paul Shortino for two albums.

This collection of 14 songs (Release Date: 20th October 2017) are a small portion of songs they wrote but they capture the spirit of what a great they actually were. Many of the songs were later performed and recorded by Foreigner, Ready for the Rain, King Kobra, Burning in her fire, Wild Horses, Fire and Water, The Kid is Back in Town and Rough Life were recorded on the classic album Back on Track by Shortino and Northrup.

During 1988 JK Northrup, Johnny Edwards, Larry Hart were recruited by legendary drummer Carmine Appice to write, record and perform the King Kobra III album.

This is a classic case of a band that should have been a multi-platinum success and these songs we have here are a reminder of what a great group of musicians and prolific songwriters they are.
    Track List:
  1. Fat City 03:38
  2. Fire And Water 03:35
  3. Winners And Losers 04:02

Frontiers Music / Pink Cream 69 - new single We Bow To None
Posted by: Denis / 06.09.2017
Pink Cream 69 return with their new release, Headstrong on November 10th, 2017! Hear new single, We Bow To None.

HEADSTRONG marks the 30th Anniversary of the German Hard rockers Pink Cream 69. And what better way to celebrate than by adding yet another gem to their already spectacular discography! Produced by bassist (and renowned producer) Dennis Ward, HEADSTRONG sees the same line-up from 2013's well received Ceremonial album return to deliver fans another Hard rocking set of quality songs on their 12th studio album overall. As a special treat, the new release includes a bonus live album featuring songs from across the band's catalogue.

Dennis Ward says: "When we released our first album in 1989, we were proud to be a 'guitar band' that yielded powerful guitar riffs and soaring vocal melodies. Since the release of Ceremonial it became evident to us that we had to take a step back to be able to make 2 steps forward so we made a 'master plan': resurrect our earliest form of songwriting incorporating these riffs and melodies, reducing the amount of keyboards and keeping the production to a minimum of sonic layers in order to be as true as possible to our sound - the sound of fat and crunchy guitars. I feel that the new album is a high-energy recording that redeems us as the powerful Rock n' Roll band we used to be. After weeks of cross checking the production, listening to the CD in my car, I take great pride in saying 'mission accomplished'. We look so very forward to presenting our new 'baby'."

    Studio Album:
  1. We Bow To None
  2. Walls Come Down
  3. Unite And Divide
  4. No More Fear
  5. Man Of Sorrow
  6. Path Of Destiny
  7. Vagrant Of The Night
  8. Bloodsucker
  9. Whistleblower
  10. The Other Man
Bonus Live Album (Recorded In Ludwigsburg (2013):
  11. Special
  12. Talk To The Moon
  13. Break The Silence
  14. Do You Like It Like That
  15. The Spirit
  16. Livin’ My Life For You
  17. Wasted Years
  18. Welcome The Night
  19. Shame

Frontiers Music / ReVertigo - Mats Levén and Anders Wikström
Posted by: Denis / 06.09.2017
Frontiers Music Srl are proud to announce the signing of ReVertigo, the Stockholm, Sweden based duo of Mats Levén (vocals) and Anders Wikström (guitar). Their debut album will be released in early 2018.

As close personal and musical friends for nearly 30 years, ReVertigo is the next chapter in an ongoing collaboration between the two culminating with their self-produced new album.

Anders says, "Mats and I always had an idea of creating something that would celebrate the fact that we really enjoy working together, but with busy separate music careers, it wasn't until 2016, we sat down and concentrated on new songs with a firm plan."

Adds Mats, "The fact that we, besides writing for other international artists, hadn't done a proper album together in 25 years also gave the writing and recording process of ReVertigo a purpose."

In September 2016, a three song demo found it´s way to Frontiers Music Srl, who decided to sign the band on the spot. In between touring activities with Candlemass, Treat, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the pair finalized the 11 songs featured on the debut album. All the instruments on the album are played by Mats and Anders, except for the drums, which were performed by their dear friend Thomas Broman (Great King Rat, Michael Schenker Group, Electric Boys). "Both of us have a strong mutual vision, that's why we choose to play and sing most of the instruments and parts on the album ourselves", says Mats. Peter Mansson is responsible for the mixing duties, which took place at Mir Studios in Stockholm and Svante Forsbäck mastered at Chartmakers in Helsinki.

ReVertigo's music itself is a blend of heavy, yet melodic songs paying tribute to their favorite albums and artists from the 70's, 80's, and up to present day filtered through the chemistry that comes to life when Mats and Anders join forces.

"I love when you get that teenage excitement together over a song idea, and how you hear a finished gem in your head, hence the bands name ReVertigo", says Mats.

"We might not be reinventing the wheel, but we're certainly putting on fresh tires", tells Anders.

ReVertigo's debut album will be released worldwide in early 2018 through Frontiers Music Srl, with multiple singles and videos preceding the release of the album.

Thrash Metal heroes Game Over are going to release their new album Claiming Supremacy on November 17th on Scarlet Records. The tracklist is as follows:
  1. Onward To Blackness
  2. Two Steps Into The Shadows
  3. Last Before The End
  4. My Private Nightmare
  5. Blessed Are The Heretics
  6. Eleven
  7. Broken Trails
  8. Shattered Souls
  9. Lysander
  10. Show Me What You Got
  11. +11. Metal Thrashing Mad (Anthrax cover – Japanese bonus track)
Cover artwork was handled by acclaimed artist Mario E. Lopez (Evil Invaders, Impalers, Hyades).

Following the widely successful Crimes Against Reality and the Blessed Are The Heretics EP, which confirmed the band as one of the most promising Metal acts in Europe and among the NWOTM best, Claiming Supremacy is without any doubt the band's most mature album so far. Inspired by the classic Bay Area Thrash Metal scene of the Eighties, Game Over mix those influences with modern sounds and a very distinctive personality. Claiming Supremacy is the perfect combination of the band's furious riffing, Hardcore attitude and classic Metal influences, with very obscure lyrics and, of course, those anthemic choruses that fans recognize as a band trademark. Overall the album is heavier, faster and ruthless than ever. Lyrics vary from B-movie scenarios to social-political themes, science fiction, mythology and history. The album has been mixed and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), who has previously worked with Midnight, SunnO))), Poison Idea, Integrity and many more. Claiming Supremacy, which will be released in Japan by Marquee, will also be available in a vinyl version limited to 500 copies.

International Heavy metallers BEAST IN BLACK are ready to strike with might and main!
