Imperative PR / Kill Everything unleash Scorched Earth through Comatose Music - the ultimate in brutality
Posted by: Denis / 19.06.2018
Imperative PR's relationship with Comatose Music continues to yield bands of the utmost savagery, bringing to our roster albums of unfathomable brutality and shocking intensity. They now welcome perhaps the most bludgeoning and nihilistic album they have ever dealt with, in the form of Scorched Earth, from Texan platoon Kill Everything.

Featuring two of the founding members of legendary gore monsters Devourment and two men from the ranks of the punishing Primordius, Kill Everything offer not the slightest suspicion of mercy. Bleak, terrifying and devoid of humanity, Kill Everything are a band for devotees of the ultimate in extremity. Not a single chink of light penetrates the all pervading darkness that radiates from the brutal grooves of Scorched Earth. The onslaught is relentless, the thick, diseased riffs falling in an incessant cascade of blinding sludge and offal and the humour in tracks like It's A Wonderful Knife is as black as old blood.

On August 17th Comatose will unlock the cage and send Kill Everything's debut out into the world, a pitiless predator with no aim but total, wanton destruction. There have been whispers in the depths of the underground about this release for some time now, the devoted followers of the heaviest, darkest Death Metal waiting impatiently to test themselves against its harsh horrors, eager to experience a new level of barbaric butchery. The time is now upon us. Kill Everything are coming. Be prepared for thermal liquidation!

Imperative PR / Consecration - Remembrance (funeral Doom/Death Metal)
Posted by: Denis / 19.06.2018
Beneath the endless, foreboding skies of East Anglia, the region of England most steeped in tales of witchcraft and witch burnings, where the dark, empty fens stretch out to become the labyrinthine reed beds and marshes and eventually the cold North Sea comes a sound of desolate doom, aching emptiness, nightmare and shadows...

For the past eight years Consecration have been casting their eldritch spells, weaving words of forgotten wisdom and incantations of black imaginings through riffs of rot and decay, entwining oppressive atmosphere with beguiling melodies, encasing songs of sorrow in caskets of terror and bleak horror. From the malicious spite of their debut EP, Gut The Priest to the overwhelming sonic landscape of fear and shadows that is summoned up by their full length album Ephemerality, released through UKEM in the heart of winter 2014, this unique band have been building a formidable canon of work, a horde of gold and gems that has lain glittering in the caverns of the underground, treasured by the intrepid souls that have braved the descent into darkness to discover it.

As Consecration began to venture forth from their home territory, playing shows across the UK with the likes of Leafhound, Esoteric, Primitive Man, so the media began to take notice of their intoxicating blend of mournful magic and hellish visions from beyond the walls of sleep. Zero Tolerance Magazine, Metal Rules, Doomantia and more were captured by their insidious conjurations. The sound of Consecration could no longer remain hidden beneath the dank soil... An alliance formed with Imperative PR, Consecration have decided to open the black covers of their grimoire, to invite one and all to taste the darkness of not only Gut The Priest and Ephemerality, but an array of secrets that have lain too long in the deep places. Under the title of Remembrance you will find the first eight years of Consecration in their entirety, a digital compendium of their cursed litanies and lore - all fully remastered and restored to breathe a new life into the darkness. These are the hymns of heartbreak upon which a monolith will be built. These are the spirit-crushing sounds that will form the foundations of a legacy of mourning, an empire of tears. Beware, the future is bleak indeed...

Frontiers Music / GROUNDBREAKER first single and video
Posted by: Denis / 19.06.2018
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of new project featuring singer Steve Overland of FM and Robert Säll of Work of Art & W.E.T. under the moniker GROUNDBREAKER.

The self-titled debut will be released on September 14th. First single and video, Over My Shoulder available now!

The album is simply everything that a Melodic Rock fan could hope for: soaring hooklines, magnificent melodies, amazing musical performances, and in Overland, a stunning vocalist. Mixing the British and Swedish Melodic Rock/AOR styles, Groundbreaker is truly the best of both worlds and surely destined to be one of the highlights of the year in an already stellar year for Melodic Rock!

GROUNDBREAKER came about when a conversation between Frontiers' President Serafino Perugino and Overland revealed that the latter was eager to collaborate with new and exciting musicians from the European Melodic Rock scene. The idea was immediately brought up to involve Robert Sall of Work of Art and use Alessandro Del Vecchio's production abilities. Overland loved the initial material that was submitted and consequently, they all started to work on songs. The process was very smooth and the final result was so good that everyone thought that the name GROUNDBREAKER was the right way to describe the power and the vibe of the music.

"I'm the main composer for about half of the songs, but Ale and Steve wrote a lot as well", tells Robert Sall. "I had to write songs with Steve's voice in mind and that was new, but very inspiring to me. But for any fan of FM or Work of Art, I think they will be very familiar with the sound of this record!"

"The idea for the album was to make a classic AOR album and I think between Robert, Alessandro, Pete Alpenborg and myself, we came up with a great collection of songs", adds Overland. "I think this is some of the best material I've worked on in a while and all of the musicians on the record are fantastic, not only as players, but to work with. I knew of Robert's writing talents on the Work of Art records, but it really turned out to be a great collaboration and I'm so proud of the results! My personal favourite song on the record is Will It Make You Love Me. We've shot a video for it and I think it's truly a future classic!"

If you like, no LOVE Melodic Rock, then this is simply a must hear album!

Imperative PR / Abhorrent Deformity - Slaughter Monolith
Posted by: Denis / 08.06.2018
There are many ways to kill... some are simple, frenzied and bludgeoning. Others are more complex and more creative... more artistic. The edifice of horror that Abhorrent Deformity have created with their second album, the towering testament to death that is Slaughter Monolith, is compelling, enthralling, fascinating – at times breathtaking, both in its brutality and its magnificence.

Each band member forms an interlinking part in this finely honed murder machine, from the seemingly effortless double bass drum barrage laid down by Matthew Green, to the endlessly inventive riffs, carved from flesh by the cruel talents of seven-string slaughterer Jason Keating. The guitar parts fly into tortured upward spirals like a host of insane angels, slither like a cascade of serpentine entrails or lock in with the obscene bass under currents of David Wright to dredge the depths of sewers clogged with blood and offal.

There's more to Slaughter Monolith than foreboding atmosphere and heart-stopping heaviness though. Like Cannibal Corpse's staggering Gallery Of Suicide album, this collection of carnage anthems suggests there are stories to be told in Mark De Gruchy's inhuman howling, paths to be followed, enticing secrets to be found across the putrid, cloying Swamp Of Intestines. When these songs open themselves up, revealing an unsuspected vastness, the effect is addictive. A track like Purification Through Bodily Dismemberment becomes something you'd wade through blood to revisit. All these elements, the captivating dark beauty, the grandeur, the intricacy, the pitiless death lust are drawn together in Slaughter Monolith's cover art, putting the final perfect seal on Abhorrent Deformity's gloriously grotesque, godless creation.

Kneel before the monolith and open your minds to unprecedented tales of torment!

Nuclear Blast / BURNING WITCHES - announce tour with GRAVE DIGGER + new album details
Posted by: Denis / 08.06.2018
BURNING WITCHES are not only the hottest export from the Alpine Republic, the five piece from Switzerland are also one of the most thrilling newcomers of old school Heavy Metal across the last few years - worldwide! The band whose members are all die-hard Metal heads, have already bewitched the press with their first single Burning Witches (released in their founding year of 2016), and were subsequently awarded 'Demo Of The Month' in both Metal Hammer Germany and Rock Hard Germany. Their powerful sound is characterised by the strong compositions of band founding member Romana as well as by the expressive tone of vocalist Seraina, who has been dubbed as 'the female Rob Halford' (JUDAS PRIEST).

The young Swiss talents have already made a name for themselves with their self-titled debut album, and received attention from Heavy Metal fans worldwide. It's no surprise that the biggest Heavy Metal label of the world, Nuclear Blast, offered them a deal earlier this year!

The BURNING WITCHES don't understand the terms 'rest' or 'stagnancy', and so the next enchanting masterpiece is already brewing in their steel pot. The book 'Hexenhammer', which legitimised the witch-hunts of 1486, is the focus of the new record's lyrical content. It's about oppression, violence against the weak and manipulation of facts; all topics that are timeless and more significant now than ever. The forthcoming record was produced in the Little Creek Studio by the same team as its predecessor: V.O. Pulver (PRO-PAIN, DESTRUCTION, NERVOSA, PÄNZER) and DESTRUCTION legend Schmier, who helped and advised as a close friend of the band. The result is a truly brilliant Heavy Metal album, which will take away the breath of headbangers worldwide, and of course make the people bang their heads!

The new, as of yet untitled album will be released this winter via Nuclear Blast.

In January, BURNING WITCHES will head on an extensive tour throughout Europe as special guests on GRAVE DIGGER's 'Tour Of The Living Dead'.

Romana commented: "We were really happy when Chris Boltendahl came to us at the Bang Your Head!!! Winter Festival to ask if we were interested in joining GRAVE DIGGER out on tour. That'll be the first big tour for us and it's an honour to get a chance like this as a new act. Since our second record will be released in November, the timing of this run couldn't be more perfect! We're super excited & READY TO FIGHT!"

Som do Darma / Maestrick's new album 'Espresso Della Vita: Solare' is released in Japan by Marquee/Avalon
Posted by: Denis / 30.05.2018
The subjective and artistic fulfillment always came first for the members of Maestrick, the Brazilian Prog Rock/Metal band. Cultural relevance versus the market tendencies. When you can align this with the economic incentive coming from the market, surely one has the best configuration for the production and diffusion of a musical project. This is the case of Maestrick that, on May 23rd, has just released its new album, Espresso Della Vita: Solare, by the biggest label of the genre in Japan and one of the most important in the world, Marquee/Avalon.

Espresso Della Vita: Solare is the successor of the acclaimed debut album, Unpuzzle!, and the EP The Trick Side Of Some Songs that included new versions that Maestrick did for classics of Beatles, Yes, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rainbow. Espresso Della Vita: Solare is the first part of a conceptual album that makes an observation of the human life by the perspective of a train trip. The album was produced by Adair Daufembach (Tony Macalpine, Hibria, Hangar) that was also responsible for recording all the guitars of the album.
Espresso Della Vita: Solare brings the tracks:
  1. Origami
  2. I a.m. Living
  3. Rooster Race
  4. Daily View
  5. Water Birds
  6. Keep Trying
  7. The Seed

  9. Across The River

Consisting of Jason Ashcraft (guitars) from Helion Prime and John Yelland (vocals) from Judicator, DIRE PERIL has signed with Divebomb Records for the release of their long-overdue debut full-length, The Extraterrestrial Compendium. Available on November 9th, 2018, the album will feature guest performances by Brittney Slayes (Unleash the Archers)—reprising her role as Barbarella for a re-recorded version of 'Queen of the Galaxy'—and the mighty Arjen Anthony Luccassen (Ayreon, Star One, The Gentle Storm), who lends his voice and guitar skills to album-closer 'Journey Beyond the Stars'.

Ashcraft comments, "I have been biting my tongue, mostly, for about three years now that we got Arjen to perform on one of our tracks. Those who know me understand that this is a dream come true for me. Arjen is a huge inspiration to myself and my music, and to have had the honor to work with him is something that will be a main highlight throughout my career. He is very humble and great to work with. I hope everyone is as pleased with the outcome as I am."

Each of The Extraterrestrial Compendium's 12 tracks is based on a sci-fi film. "I always loved the idea behind Iced Earth's Horror Show—making each song based on a famous monster film. If it isn't obvious from the music, I'm somewhat of an Iced Earth fan", states Jason, "so when coming up with ideas for this debut, I thought it would be cool to take a similar direction, but with something that I'm passionate about. As you can see by the final result, we get an album based on some of my all-time favorite sci-fi films. It was certainly hard to choose, as I could probably make DIRE PERIL's entire career on favorite films alone."

Together, the duo—through many obstacles—is prepared to present The Extraterrestrial Compendium to the world, as well as the friends and fans who have waited so patiently.

Yelland notes, "Working on this album was a joy. I had always admired Jason's material, so the opportunity to collaborate with him was irresistible. I am so proud of what we have accomplished, and can't wait to share this—and more—with the world..."

Som do Darma / Sunrunner announces new studio album and new vocalist
Posted by: Denis / 24.05.2018
Sunrunner is a Heavy-Prog trio formed in 2008 in Portland, Maine, USA. The band debuted with the album Eyes Of The Master (2011), a Prog Rock record with Heavy Metal leanings. Since then, their second album Time In Stone (2013), Sunrunner had solidified more into a Metal band with Prog Rock influence, using elements of Jazz and acoustic instruments such as violin, flute, bouzouki and percussion. Heliodromus, the third full length released in September 2015 by Minotauro Records (Italy), is the most epic one to date, defining the term Heavy-Prog as the bands genre.

The tour in promotion of Heliodromus included dates in USA, South America and Russia, where they've played at Belomor-Boogie Festival in Akhangelsk. Back to the US, Sunrunner started to work on its new album, Ancient Arts Of Survival.

"We began writing the new songs early 2016 and spent the majority of the year composing them", says the guitar player Joe Martignetti. "The songs are mostly all new ideas with a few old parts sprinkled throughout. The direction is slightly more straightforward than the previous three records. I think after writing Heliodromus we realized we enjoyed writing music that was a little less eccentric and experimental... more reminiscent of our roots. So we continued down this path. The new stuff has a really good balance. There is more Metal than Prog Rock. Less guest musicians and embellishments. But there is still plenty of odd time signatures. Lots of 5's and 9's".

Still according to Martignetti, the title Ancient Arts Of Survival reflects a time when mankind had the abilities to be in control of his own destiny.

"Without having to rely on technology and society, we we're able to thrive and adventure in the harshest conditions of any terrain. With nothing but the knowledge and wisdom of the natural landscapes that surrounds us. We have become complacent in a way. Not to undermine the wonderful things we have. For me, I feel it would be nice to still have the knowledge of the past mixed with the things we have today."

The cover artwork is signed by the artist Jan Michael Barlow and perfectly reflects the title and its concept.

Ancient Arts Of Survival will bring the following tracklist:
  1. Dawnland
  2. Tracking The Great Spirit
  3. Inner Vision
  4. The Scout
  5. Prophecy Of The Red Skies
  6. Distorted Reflection
  7. Arrive, Awake, Survive And Thrive
  8. Palaver
  9. Stalking Wolf
All instruments and backing vocals of the album were recorded at Acadia Recording Company in Porland, Maine – the same studio where the band recorded Heliodromus – and produced by Jimmy Martignetti with Todd Hutchisen as sound engineer. The band also mixed again both the analog and digital recording systems respectively.

All vocals were recorded at Stone Studio in the city of Frutal, Brazil. This happened because Sunrunner now has a new frontman: Bruno Neves!

Bruno Neves is a Brazilian singer and was member of the bands Noerya e Kromun, both from Brazil, and also of Desant from Romania. Bruno will debut with Sunrunner on the new album Ancient Arts Of Survival and fulfill the band's agenda for 2018, which includes an European Tour.

Joe Martignetti explains about the new addition on the band’s line-up: "We have been looking for a replacement, but it is very difficult to find someone who can sing melodically the way we like here in this part of the USA. So almost as a joke, it was like, 'Man... it would be easier to find a singer from Brazil than here in the U.S.!' But Eliton (our manager) put an add up and within minutes, we had a slew of people who wanted to be a part of the band. I was shocked! But not in the sense of all the talented singers from Brazil, but for the response time and the willing to work with a band 10.000 miles away! It was a hard decision because everyone who was interested has incredible voices and talent! We chose Bruno because we have many similar interests and influences. He is very motivated and immediately on top of things. And he is determined to move to the US. We also seem to click well, even with just emailing and skype. He seems like the right guy to us. We are excited to see what we can do!"

The addition of Bruno in Sunrunner does not mean that the band will part ways with the current singer/bassplayer, David Joy. Joe explains: "We needed to find a new singer. Not because of any musical differences or any other kind of conflict with Dave. He has a family and needs to spend time with them. We support him. Family first. However, the door is not fully closed should he choose to work with us still. Such as bass, or backing vocals or whatever."

Frontiers Music / Primal Fear to release new album 'Apocalypse'
Posted by: Denis / 24.05.2018
Frontiers Music Srl is proud to announce the release of another monster Heavy Metal album from Germany's Primal Fear in the form of their new studio album, Apocalypse on August 10, 2018!

Apocalypse is Primal Fear's 12th studio album and another milestone release in keeping with the consistent growth the band has shown through their career. Primal Fear, through years of hard work and a steady stream of increasingly powerful albums, have become one of the most beloved and respected Heavy Metal bands around the globe, a true Metal institution. Their last two studio albums, Delivering The Black, Rulebreaker, saw them climbing the charts in several territories and receiving even more critical praise than previous releases. Truly, especially in recent years, the band has continued to raise the bar in terms of quality and musicianship with each release, constantly pushing themselves to find new ways to best themselves.

Production of the record started at the end of 2017 and was wrapped by spring 2018 at Hansen Studios is Denmark with producer Mat Sinner and engineer/mixer Jacob Hansen. "My personal highlight of recording the album was the fantastic teamwork. Peaceful, focused and really creative", says Mat Sinner. "No big discussion, no heated arguments. Everybody did a fantastic job and the performances were top notch. This was the key to improve every little detail of the songs, from old school to epic, from modern to symphonic, from fast to slow - you will hear it all on Apocalypse."

The guitars on the album are truly outstanding. Each of the three guitar players of the band - Magnus Karlsson, Tom Naumann, Alex Beyrodt - shine in their own respective right. Thanks to the fantastic mix provided by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Delain, Pretty Maids, Amaranthe, etc.), each player is highlighted.

And finally, what to say about the performance of Ralf Scheepers, one of the truest and most outstanding vocal Metal heroes of our times? "Ralf is more motivated and ambitious than ever before", relays Sinner. "The band vibe is extremely peaceful and creative these days and this really elevates Ralf. He had the opportunity to try different things on the songs and even some extreme ideas, which are always welcomed. Ralf sounds good in every pitch from a very deep sonor voice, to a mid-range power vocal to extreme high-pitched screams, so we could fool around with all different scales and scenarios. For example, I think the vocal performance on the song Supernova speaks for itself. The result on Apocalypse is utter satisfaction paired with maximum enthusiasm and we're really happy about the final result - I hope the fans will enjoy the record as much as we do!"

Imperative PR / Californian cemetary dwellers Wurm Flesh sign to Comatose Music! Brutal Death-obsessed debut to follow
Posted by: Denis / 18.05.2018
Imperative PR can announce another formidable addition to the Comatose Music roster, with Californian Death machine Wurm Flesh signing on the dotted line. Wurm Flesh began life as a one man band back in 2014, guitarist/vocalist Rob Calhoun breathing life into the fetid corpse after the demise of Siphon Soul. However, since then, Wurm Flesh has hatched new members like parasites on a carcass and they're now a four piece unit, ready to spread their unique brand of putrefaction around the world. This fall Comatose Music will release their debut album, Excoriation Evisceration and carnage will ensue.

Describing what made Wurm Flesh the perfect band for Comatose, label boss Steve Green gave us this statement... "Chaotic tempo changes, stomach churning gutturals, blistering down picked guitar riffs, frenzied blast beats coalesced with extended range, low-end bass carnage. This brutal Death Metal quartet rises from the rancid soils to consume all that is weak. For we all die and become fodder for the belly crawlers. Where kings and beggars are finally one and equal with the maggots!"

Get those shovels ready, because this is the kind of Death Metal you dig out of graves!

METALMESSAGE / ATRIUM NOCTIS - symphonic Dark/Black Metal - new music video
Posted by: Denis / 09.05.2018
On April 23, the Cologne formation around keyboarder Hydra Gorgonia released their new music video for the song Zerberons Erwachen. Sascha Krüger of Imotion Factory was responsible for the shoot. It was filmed in a real stalactite cave and in the middle of the forest in a clearing that unfolded its special appeal through trees that had fallen from the storm.

While many bands in the Black Metal genre are constantly experimenting with new stylistic devices, ATRIUM NOCTIS continues to rely entirely on a traditional, mystic-occult performance. Thus, on the one hand, to the proven origins of this guild is paid homage, but the formation performs also with a good deal of autonomy.

Under the earth: the whole thing has been recorded under arduous circumstances at the beginning of January 2018 in the stalactite cave Wiehl, under a forest in the mystical Siebengebirge. The cave, located 50 km east of Cologne, is about 20 meters underground, there prevail about 8 degrees Celsius.

Concerning the content of their new music video, ATRIUM NOCTIS hope that the inclined spectators will be able to surprise as mystically as possible - at the visualized threshold between this world and the hereafter whose boundaries are thematically blurred in Zerberons Erwachen.

HIDDEN INTENT SIGN WITH SCARLET RECORDS
Posted by: Denis / 09.05.2018
Adelaide-based Thrash Metal three-piece Hidden Intent have signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the release of their new album Fear, Prey, Demise. The Aussie band have been carving their way through the masses with their unabashedly unapologetic '80s-throwback Thrash Metal, a form of music that wholly embraces its American and European roots in the Bay Area, Scandinavian and Teutonic Thrash scenes. Being lauded for their 'energetic' live show and the 'party Thrash' they play for their audience, the Adelaide trio have continued to build their name well into the now.

With lead vocalist/bassist Chris McEwen (ex-Abyzmal, ex-Obsidian Aspect) at the helm, and the lead guitars of riff-lord and backing vocalist Phil Bennett (ex-Desert Eagle/TKBF), the trio is completed with the more recent addition of Paul Lewis (Hawkai, ex-Death Boundaries, ex-Tidal) on drums.

Entering into 2018, Hidden Intent ride off the back of such accomplishments as releasing their first full-length album, Walking Through Hell in 2014; supporting Danish Thrash Metal icons Artillery for their 'Made in China' tour in 2015; sharing the stage in their hometown with Helloween, Queensrÿche, Anvil, Venom Inc; achieving national support for Nuclear Assault Australian tour; playing large festivals in both Australia and abroad, including Full Terror Assault in the US, Bangkok Thrash Festival in Thailand, The New Dead Metal Festival and Blacken Open Air in Australia. Their highly anticipated new album, Fear, Prey, Demise, was mixed and mastered by Andrew Kite at Against The Grain Studios and will be released on July 6th. 2018 is the year of Thrash!

darkSIGN-RECORDS / Gothic Rock act Cradle of Haze new single 'Stupid Boy'
Posted by: Denis / 08.05.2018
German Gothic Rock act Cradle of Haze surprises with a remake of a 20 year old song.

The new edition of the song Stupid Boy is not just any old song but the first song that Cradle of Haze founder Thorsten Eligehausen wrote and recorded completely on his own during his music career - and that on May 3, 1998, exactly 20 years ago.

The original and first version of Stupid Boy was never released, only one variation made it to the fourth Cradle of Haze album In the Name of the Cross, which was released in 2003 - also on May 3rd.

"The original versions of Stupid Boy are good but not good enough to be released today. The equipment available to me at that time was not sufficient to produce music that can be released today. Unfortunately, due to various hard disk crashes and other accidents, only mp3 versions are left to me, which cannot be saved anymore or can be adapted to today's music standard", says Eligehausen.

Why re-release such an old song?

"We didn't plan this! It was all about testing a bunch of new software and hardware and because I couldn't think of anything better I reproduced this song 'in a hurry' and something completely new developed. Whether it was the new, better sound of the newly bought equipments or the song that reminded me of my beginnings or the beginning at which I made the decision to go my own musical way I do not know, but the more the result formed, the more fun it was and at some point I realized that I just invented the future sound of Cradle of Haze and there was no stopping it", says Eligehausen.

After the 2017 album Sirenen Cradle of Haze now deliver a remake of a historically important song from the founder's point of view and surprise with new sound and - for the newer fans of Cradle of Haze - additionally with English lyrics.

Who has followed the development of Cradle of Haze a little bit knows that one has never committed oneself to a musical direction but has always produced music, as the mood required it straight. So it's not surprising that the song Stupid Boy moves a little bit in the direction of Dark Wave from the usual genre Gothic Rock. A driving rhythm, a lot of lyrics and melodic vocals distinguish this song from the productions of the recent past. The story behind the song follows the usual Cradle of Haze standard or was brought to life with this song. You hold up a mirror to humanity and sometimes say relatively bluntly what doesn't fit or package it in morbid and bizarre messages that convey the same thing when you listen more closely - if you are receptive to it as a listener and engage in it. Motivated and inspired by the new equipment and the resulting possibilities, after the completion of Stupid Boy Eligehausen started to re-release further 'lost' or little-noticed songs from the past and it is quite conceivable that by the end of 2018 there will be an album that will bring the old treasures of the Cradle of Haze world to the surface in a new guise.

Cruz del Sur Music / BATTLEROAR reveals cover art, tracklisting for ‘Codex Epicus’
Posted by: Denis / 04.05.2018
Greek epic/Power Metal force BATTLEROAR has revealed the cover art and track listing for their forthcoming studio album, Codex Epicus. Due on June 15 via Cruz Del Sur Music, the Codex Epicus album art was created by Vagelis Petikas of Revolver Design.

The follow-up to 2014's Blood Of Legends was recorded at Devasoundz Studios in Athens, Greece and features a guest appearance from MANILLA ROAD guitarist/vocalist Mark Shelton on the song Sword of the Flame, reprising a role he first took on with The Wanderer, which appears on BATTLEROAR's 2005 album, The Age of Chaos.

Comments BATTLEROAR guitarist Kostas Tzortzis: "Mark is one of my biggest musical influences, my mentor and my brother. I am lucky enough to know him personally for more than 16 years and we have shared many experiences in many different places on this planet! So, during the creation of this album, I found myself drained of inspiration, with a nice song on my hands half-finished, but with absolutely no idea how to get it done. Time was running out and I was getting desperate, so I thought of asking Mark for help. Mark has never failed me and this time was no different. He wrote the lyrics, created the vocal lines, sang them and he even added a guitar solo in the end of the song. The rest is history..."

BATTLEROAR will support Codex Epicus with extensive live shows across Europe.
