From Ozzy McDrake (14.11.2010):
I was the guitarplayer in Drakkar, and wrote most of the lyrics and music for their second album 'When music Becomes Magic', which unfortunately never was released.
I'm still active in the musicworld and I'm currently the chairman of 3 private music schools.
I was studying in the Jazz Conservarory round 1990. I met up with the band's manager, and he asked if I would like to join the Metal Band 'Drakkar'. They just released their first Album 'X-rated' and wanted to record their second album.
I met up with the guys, and found that they (especially Fabrice, the singer) could use some help on their lyrics. My mothertongue is English, so I started writing new lyrics for their songs. The recording took up to 2 months, and Fabrice and I wrote some more songs to be recorded. Most basslines, rhythm guitar and lyrics were of my hand.
As a producer, we had Rudy Lenners (ex Scorpions), and from the start it didn't click between him and me. During the recording of the solo's there was an argumentent between Rudy and myself, so I desided to leave the band.
After Drakkar, I kept playing in different band, and finished my degree in guitar, harmony and conducting. I later went on to study Musicology at the University of Ghent, where I graduated.
I'm now currently the chairman of 3 private music schools, where we teach musicians how to play in a band, I own a recordingstudio and we rent out rehearsalrooms for young bands.
