From Trey Xavier (10.03.2010):
In Virtue was formed at a state university just north of San Francisco, California, in 2004. The group had humble beginnings as a group of friends gathering to play the music they loved, but founders Trey Xavier (guitar/vocals) and Greg Horton (guitar) soon saw that the songs they were writing were too good to toil in obscurity. Armed with a more serious attitude and serious chops, they buckled down to write their debut EP, Delusions of Grandeur, which they recorded and released independently in December 2009 to rave reviews. Featured on this album is the soul-wrenching belt of lead siren Corinne Reif, a vocal powerhouse with a Master's degree in voice, and bassist Matt Solis, who soon moved on to join Prog Black Metal fiends Cormorant. Now rounding out the new lineup are former Ancient at Birth drum virtuoso Eli Vogt and newcomer Chach Schindler, creating a formidable live unit that dominated the North Bay's finest Metal venue, the Phoenix Theater, at the Delusions CD release show.
In Virtue has once again entered the studio to record the follow-up to Delusions, a full-length effort due out in mid to late 2010, it will feature 13 blistering tracks featuring the current lineup and engineered by Jason D'Ottavio (Shrapnel Records).
