The Fleeting Deep
Where do I go to I find a space for necessary distance or detachment?
Is there someplace? Can I go there?
What do I do to escape the shallow, narrow, thin, fractured and cursory?
To stay away from the distractions?
How to ignore and keep away from all the unimportant and irrelevant?
Is there someplace? Can I go there?
(To keep clear of it all - you need to feel small.)

You can't make an hour - or make one disappear.
The making of moments is something you come by.
Turning to the sky.

Go for a walk - or make with your hands.
Throw something and see where it lands.
Dream while awake and stare at the sky.
Leave - and turn to the wild.

If everything is recorded - then what am I full of?
More importantly what should I immerse in?
Where do I go to I find a space for necessary distance or detachment?
Is there someplace? Can I go there?

You can't make an hour
Can't make one disappear
The making of moments is something you come by - turning to the sky

Between Extremes
Something's got to slow me down
Or else I'll be diminished to speed
And I'll rush and grow then fade away
Into a fraction of what I could be

Versatility, diversity they thrive between extremes

If I would flood
If I would rise and grow
If I overflow
I would drown one part
If I dry out
I suffocate the other
If I do both
I'm reduced and almost everything...

Something's got to give way
Or else I cannot find my own ways
And I'll shape my surroundings and my surroundings will also shape me

Versatility, diversity they thrive between extremes

If I would flood
If I would rise and grow
If I overflow
I would drown one part
If I dry out
I suffocate the other
If I do both
I'm reduced and almost everything will be
A barren far too much of nothing

This is a good place
Not too high and not too low
I can't say too small or too big
Not too fast and not too slow
One thing only in excess is the great diversity
And the beauty of it all
Birds and bees and creatures deep
Variation to complete
Beauty in abundance to the great resilience
Getting better by the bending and the river run
Full of life, full of life
Fish and frog and snail and slug
Caddis, damsel and mayfly

The River
Take me out of bounds tonight
To all things shining
To making meaning again
Reverence and gratitude
And amazement
Into the river
I'm drawn
It shines so brightly
Take me to where I am small
To a mountain or a shoreline
Or under a sky full of stars
Perforate reality with imagination
Onto the river
I'm drawn
It shines so brightly
Remind me of the wonder of existence
Remind me of the wonders of life
Onto the river
Onto the river
Onto the river of life
Take me out of bounds tonight
To all things shining
To making meaning again
Reverence and gratitude
And amazement
Onto the river
I'm drawn
It shines
Into the river
I'm drawn
It shines so brightly
Onto
And
Into
The river
Onto the river
Into the river
It goes

Ultimately Lifeless
Behind the mermaids tail
The fish is in the open sea
And all along the surface, you and I, is the only thing we see
The more we know of what we know
One by one they turn and fall
Into the machine
Whatever they can take
Everything that's graspable
Everything in parts and not the whole
Fragmented and described
The more we know of what we know
One by one the turn and fall
Into the machine
The more we know of what we know
One by one the turn and fall
Into the machine
Whatever they can take
The static, decontextualized
The abstraction and the clarity it gives
What they can manipulate
The promise of perfection
But ultimately lifeless

Never to Return And Never Ever Leave
Pictures and descriptions
Many times repeated
Always reshape as the moments collide
The personal experience
And the inherited time

Never to return

The framing of a sentence
And from whom it came from
Into the heat or into the cold

Promise me this
It doesn't matter tonight

Every composition
And jagged reconstruction
Is in the gap of the truth and the lie
The center is a fluid
The surface will solidify

Never to return

The molding of a memory
That is ever changing
Will harden in time to the story I told.

Promise me this
It doesn't matter tonight

Always in a mold
Always manifold
Always led
Always gold
It hardens in time
To the story I told

Porous
Follow the trail of the sparks that ignite
Like shooting stars in the night
Feelings and pictures and words in their wake
Spring from the patterns they make
Over and over and over
Almost like fireworks in all of the cells
The story the brain tells itself
Over and over and over

There are no borders
No infinite line
Nothing that clearly define
Whenever and if I recede or extend
If we're apart - if we blend
Over and over and over

All of the people and all of the places, all things that happen relate
Over and over and over

Untie this Gordian knot
I need a simpler thought
I need a brand new start
That I can call my heart

Malfunction
How I like the collectiveness
It means we're never far apart
I've admired the effectiveness
Since that blurry, hazy start
When you did assimilate me

One two three four
Seven of nine
In any given place in time
It should be so good

But why does it hurt?
Does it ever change?
We're walking side by side and
How do I learn?
Do I know this one?
Heaven still bides in silence
And you're there
And I am here

Systems check
I am a ok
Such a unit I could be
But lately I
Have been feeling strange
(Malfunction)
Some disorder of the heart
What's wrong with me?

One two three four
Seven of nine
In any given place in time
It should be so good

But why does it hurt?
Does it ever change?
We're walking side by side and
How do I learn?
Do I know this one?
Heaven still bides in silence
And you're there
And I am here

Why does it hurt?
Does it ever change?
We're walking side by side and
How do I learn?
Do I know this one?
Heaven still bides in silence
Why does it hurt?
Does it ever change?
We're walking side by side and
How do I learn?
Do I know this one?
Heaven still bides in silence
And you're there
And I am here

Dwindle into Greatness
(new mix)
When you are king
You will be frightening
All the power in your hands
No one will ever know or notice
As you fade away
There's only you who decide
You choose what you forget what you believe in
What you won't show or tell
Watch the hurting coming

You try to keep away from trouble
Deep inside your self-made bubble
That you've made out of your freedom

When you are king
It will be easy
There are other ways than waging wars
No need for battle or to conquer
You just make your own
Where only you
Have borders drawn
Put fences up and make your land and kingdom
And then you crown yourself
Watch the hurting coming
You try to keep away from trouble
Deep inside your self-made bubble
That you've made out of your freedom

When you are king
You will be sovereign
In the truest meaning of the world
You will be on your own
In your own world
It's how you take control
There's only you
And you took
Your freedom of choice and chose to be slave
A thousand tiny lies
That one big truth cannot unmake
You try to keep away from trouble
Deep inside your self-made bubble
That you've made out of your freedom

On your own
To the end of time

When you chip away on reality the pieces fall into a dream
To make a castle
A kingdom
Whatever you call
That desolate island
