Y.O.C. is a named by its singer and it is a really cool and diverse album. Blending elements of thrash metal, gothic metal, power metal and even a little bit of glam metal, the result is a solid effort. The vocals are quite well done and are pretty unique and dynamic. The only vocalist I can even think of who sounds similar could be Vic Hix from Aftershok. The vocals aren't the only highlight, either. By no means. The guitarwork is well done and the production is very good. Sanity Within is a solidly done album and I recommend you check Y.O.C. out.
While this is a decent album, it has some drawbacks. Chiefly it could be longer.
C'mon! We want to hear more!

Five heavy power metal songs are on the disc, and I have to say the quality is excellent. Instruments are 'placed' very well, everything is clear and sounds good. Crushing guitars and drums that have enough attack.
Y.O.C. proves they have they talent of song writing as well. 'Alone In Darkness' is a promising intro that sounds a lot like Iron Maiden.

It's clear where these guys' roots lie; hints of Testament, powermetal and Maiden-like riffs take a front position. Y.O.C.'s voice is something special; I'm not exactly someone who is high on music theory but he often uses eastern sounding chords and melodies for the vocal lines, which can sound a bit odd if you hear it for the first time. Also a compliment for the guitarists who put down some shred solos: good stuff!... If Y.O.C. can put a disc full of good oldschool thrash/powermetal tunes with their own twist, then I don't see any problem for the band to play around Europe.
