| Rotting Christ | Thy Mighty Contract | 1993 | Century Media Records ID: fo462cd | | Death Black Doom Metal | When you listen to the early Rotting Christ after their later albums, you
have a feeling that music is really different. No, it's not raw or amateur
sound, I hear almost different band with the few elements of already
formed band. Probably, it's good to trace a process of band's growing. |
| Rotting Christ | Non Serviam | 1994 | Unisound Records ID: cdm 0806-2576 | | Dark Black Doom Metal | The band has many albums, this one is reckoned. It's hard to say something special about this release, it's a typical enough sound for Rotting Christ when I already heard all other their albums. |
| Rotting Christ | Theogonia | 2007 | Season of Mist ID: cdm 0107-2652/dvd 061/d | | Death Black Metal | It was a long way for the band and for me to call an album as a masterpiece
on the first try, from the first listening. This aggressive but harmonic
music is one of the best creation of this genre. |
| Rotting Christ | Aealo | 2010 | Season of Mist ID: SOM 214 | | Folk Black Metal | Rotting Christ's spirit pulls to pieces all boring and
average Black/Death albums again. We have an excellent experiment
where Rotting Christ's Black/Death gloomy music meets Folk abundantly. |
| Rough Silk | Roots of Hate | 1992 | Massacre Records ID: cdm 0502-856 | | Melodic Power Metal | |
| Rough Silk | Walls of Never | 1994 | Massacre Records ID: cdm 0502-857 | | Melodic Power Metal | |
| Rough Silk | Circle of Pain... Or: the Secret Lies of Timekeeping | 1996 | Massacre Records ID: cdm 0502-858 | | Melodic Power Metal | |
| Rough Silk | Mephisto | 1997 | Massacre Records ID: cdm 0502-859 | | Melodic Power Metal | |
| Rough Silk | Beyond the Sundown | 1998 | Massacre Records ID: cdm 0502-860 | | Power Metal | |
| Rough Silk | Symphony of Life | 2001 | Steamhammer ID: SPV CD 085-57462 | | Melodic Heavy Metal | There is the only true God - Queen, and Rough Silk is its prophet. This album left behind the preferences of the previous albums, this album headed towards balladish Melodic Hard&Heavy with many Queen influences and even The Beatles influences. |
| Rough Silk | End of Infinity | 2003 | Point Music ID: BNR: 10243 | | Melodic Blues Hard Heavy Metal | It's infinity of musical variety, but I hope it's not the end of it. The music moves to Hard&Heavy obviously, almost all tracks are slow and balladish, but there are some fast songs, in miraculous Power. I think it's needless to tell about outstanding tunefulness, the music is like Queen again. |
| Rough Silk | A New Beginning | 2009 | Dockyard 1 ID: DY100842 | | Melodic Heavy Metal | I've always been attracted by Rough Silk/Ferdy
Doernberg so it's possible I'm preconceived but it's really another
outstanding band's album. It's a various and very melodious music,
'special from Ferdy' which I'm ready to listen without a stop. |
| Royal Hunt | Land of Broken Hearts | 1993 | Royal Records ID: RRCD 7001 | | Melodic Heavy Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Clown in the Mirror | 1994 | Rondel Records ID: RRCD 9009-2 | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Moving Target | 1995 | Majestic Entertainment | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Live in Japan | 1996 | Majestic Entertainment ID: cdm 0308-2842/2843 | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Live in Japan (video) | 1996 | Teichiku Records ID: TEVP-48050 | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Paradox | 1997 | Semaphore ID: 50610-422 | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Paradox (US) | 1997 | Magna Carta ID: MA-9017-2 | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Closing the Chapter | 1997 | Teichiku Records ID: cdm 0308-2845 | | Melodic Metal | This live audio version is of course a quintessence of
the best period of Royal Hunt live. It's the best songs you've ever
heard! |
| Royal Hunt | Closing the Chapter (video) | 1997 | Teichiku Records | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | 1993-1997 | 1997 | Teichiku Records ID: TEVP-38051 | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Fear | 1999 | Majestic Entertainment ID: PCCY-01417 | | Power Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Intervention | 2000 | Majestic Entertainment ID: PLCD 0204 | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | The Mission | 2001 | Century Media Records ID: 8073-2 | | experimental Pop Heavy Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | The Watchers | 2002 | Frontiers Records ID: cdm 0102-793 | | Melodic Metal | No comment. |
| Royal Hunt | Eye Witness | 2003 | Majestic Entertainment ID: amg 100 | | Melodic Metal | Is it return to the roots? It isn't The Mission of Fear, it's something
more ancient with the choirs, good tunes, good keys, guitars and of course
vocals. Unfortunately, some tracks of this album are the self-copies of
the tracks from the previous albums. |
| Royal Hunt | Paper Blood | 2005 | Majestic Entertainment ID: amg 267 | | Melodic Progressive Power Metal | People have waited for real old Royal Hunt for many years. The day has come! It's the first album with West on the vocals where all attributes of loved classic Royal Hunt were saved including wonderful Lubke/McTurk backing vocals. |
| Royal Hunt | 2006 Live | 2006 | Majestic Entertainment ID: szcd 4334-06 | | Melodic Heavy Power Metal | It's already Royal Hunt tradition to release live album every 10 years: 1996, 2006, I hope Live'2016 is not a mirage. What's especial on this live version but many keys? I think West's work is just wonderful there, it doesn't matter how it sounds on studio recordings, West is capable to better with the live microphone. |
| Royal Hunt | Collision Course - Paradox II | 2008 | Majestic Entertainment ID: cdm 0308-2855/d | | Melodic Hard Heavy Power Metal | Can it be a return to Paradox? There are no Jacob Kjaer, Steen Mogensen
and of course DC Cooper on this album unofficially called Paradox 2, Andre
Andersen already doesn't play similar excellent solos of that time, his
current keys work just simply reminds me of the old sounding, now it's
closer and closer to Progressive Hard&Heavy keys. An album feel indeed
is very good because of hard musicians' work, the songs are melodious and
catching, the arrangements and the choirs are just admirable. |
