Majestic - Abstract Symphony Review

back to reviews

Artist: Majestic

Album: Abstract Symphony

Released: 1999

A mixture of styles and genres: Melodic Power Progressive Metal

Review:

When I've put this CD into my CDplayer, I thought that Yngwie Malmsteen and Stratovarius got together to play some great music! But no, I think if Malmsteen & Stratovarius would play together, they'd definitely have slower speed of playing.

This band has powerful and speedy guitar riffs aswell as keyboards. Vocals are not so mighty as, let's say, Timo Kotipelto's (from Stratovarius), but they fit the music in 80% of 100%. The only shortcoming of this CD, I think, is the lack of originality, guys have very few their own ideas. Anyway, it's a very interesting album, because it combines power, melody and playing skill.

Summary:
Vocals:8.00 of 10
Instruments:9.00 of 10
Skill:10.00 of 10
Originality:6.00 of 10
TOTAL:8.25 of 10
